One Friday Afternoon, written by T.K. Chapin is a story of a marriage that doesn’t have God as the foundation. T.K. Chapin takes the characters of Nathan and Elizabeth and brings them to life on the pages of One Friday Afternoon. Both of them have had issues that caused a great schism in their marriage. They allowed others between them and have now gotten to the point where they both have to face the mistakes they’ve made and make a choice. Will God be the foundation of their marriage or with they allow other people, jobs, and things to take priority in their lives above the Lord. This is a second Christian Romance book in the Diamond Lake Series. Chapin has brought characters back into this story that we met in book one, One Thursday Morning, such as Serenah, Charlie and Miley. We learned a bit more about the characters from book one which was fun to see what had progressed in their lives from that first book. I think it’s a great way to expand their characters when one book is about a specific part of their lives and then bring them into this next book and give us cameos of their activities since then. As always, I enjoy the way that Chapin brings tough situations and topics to the forefront of his Christian Romance books and then shows how God can make a difference in a life when we allow Him in.
Another beautiful story from T. K. He certainly knows how to write a story with characters facing real life problems that pulls the reader into the story and has the reader feeling all that the characters are going through. This story follows Elizabeth and Nathan and their battle to hold their marriage together. It is a wonderful story showing that when a couple seeks God and puts Him first in their relationship that healing and restoration can come even in the worst of circumstances. I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review, and this is another one from this author that I wholeheartedly recommend.
Many marriages fail every year, often due to one or both spouses getting caught up in affairs, emotional or physical. The main characters of the story are on the verge of a divorce. Both the husband and the wife have made bad decisions, not the least being that they left God behind and did things their own way. I will not tell you the outcome but I will state unequivocally that marriage partners who leave God out are asking for trouble. He designed marriage and He should be a vital part of every marriage. We have the choice. Nathan and Elizabeth made wrong choices that led to more wrong choices. I recommend this book especially to married couples. You don’t have to be going through difficult times to benefit from the truth shared by the author. After all, he is merely sharing Truth from the Author of all. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
