A fun regency romance. I liked Trinny as a character because she had the courage to do what she wanted to do even if it was not the normally accepted thing.

One Moonlit Night by Gaelen Foley is a fantastic read. Ms Foley has delivered a well written book. This novella is a quick read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. Katrina and Gable's story is fast paced with lovable characters, drama, humor and sizzle. I enjoyed One Moonlit Night and look forward to reading more from Gaelen Foley in the future. One Moonlit Night is book .05 of the Moonlight Square Series, but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

5 out of 5 for this reader folks! OH how I love me a great historical romance! :) Oh how I adore Gaelen Foley and her writing! Oh how I am looking forward to more books in the this series to be released. OH … well you get the picture! LOL The Moonlight series by Gaelen Foley is about a neighbourhood of rakes, spinsters, sassy ladies, pompous men and love matches left right and centre that all happen to surround a gated garden park that is open to the public during the day and only accessed by the residents with a key after hours. In the middle stands a gazebo that has seen it’s share of scandal. Intrigued are you?? Read on and let’s see if this review can light your historical romance fire! This is a prequel to the series that gives us a good storyline to fall in love with and introduce us to characters that I am hoping will receive their own story. Lady Katrina feels hopeless when it comes to landing a husband. Insanely awkward, and the eldest daughter of many she is left to feel like she is holding up her sisters’s futures by not being able to land her own. Once again losing another chance at marriage, she finds herself sobbing away at night in the infamous gazebo when she is interrupted by the notorious rake Viscount Roland (who is there on his own scandalous mission), something strange happens. An easy friendship blooms. Katrina does not become tongue tied with this man and certainly feels she can just be herself. After much conversation and a shared moment, Roland gives advice that changes Katrina’s life. Viscount Roland is a a naughty naughty man. Happy to live his life of debauchery, he takes nothing too seriously. Nothing until an ultimatum from his father makes him realize that he has no choice but to marry and settle down. Having come to the conclusion that Katrina just may be his perfect mate he suddenly remembers the advice he gave her and how now, that piece of advice is the one thing that stands in the way of his own future. These two are a riot together. A true friendship, brutal honesty and a potential love that completely blind sides both of them. I loved everything about these two, but it was her banter that actually made me giggle at times. Wonderful set up for the first novel of the series.

A fun start to Ms Foley's next series, this novella does a good job in setting up the place and characters that we will inevitably get to know better in later installments. The lead story, about a rake who meets a young woman getting over being rejected by her latest suitor, is familiar, but still enjoyable. Ms Foley has always had a knack for writing characters who learn to love with abandon and this story shows that off well. Looking forward to the first full installment!

Meet the characters for the Moonlit Square series here. This is a delightful frothy romp as Gable gives advice to Lady Katrina that she should do what makes her happy when it comes to marriage. She decides to get out of the Marriage Mart and become a spinster. His father, however, makes it clear that he will be cut off if he does not marry after he duels with the husband of a recent tryst. Now when it seems that maybe Lady Katrina might be perfect for him she has sworn off marriage and men. One Moonlit Night was fun. It is very tongue-in-cheek and I defy anyone to read it and not be amused by Gable and Katrina. They seem to be moving in opposite directions. She refuses to take him seriously and he's never been more serious in his life. I liked the glimpses of the characters who will be coming in the series. I like the set-up so the backstory is there. I am so looking forward to this series.

This is the first story in the Moonlight Square series and I'm hooked! Absolutely loved the story! From the very first meeting of Katrina and Gable you could see that they belonged together. Each with something to prove to their families. Each with an idea to help the other prove themselves. So of course they had to help one another. Great chemistry between the two and witty banter. Even though it's a novella I really got a good sense of the characters. I hate when authors skimp on character description and development so much so that the characters end up mostly shallow or two dimensional. Ms. Foley did a great job of letting you get to know the characters and all the quirks that make them who they are.. You don't feel as if you have missed any part of the story because of length either, which is another novella uh oh I have come across in the past. The characters are very like able and I found myself rooting for them to find their happily ever after...and giving a little Woo Hoo when they did. Definitely looking forward to the next in the series Duke of Scandal, which I have already pre ordered. I have to stay, in all honesty, that when I finished reading One Moonlit Night I felt as if I had read a full novel instead of a novella and that is saying something. *I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.*

Gaelen Foley has hit another one out of the park! This is such a sweet, understanding study of two people with very different opinions of love and marriage. Trinny seems to be unlucky in love, having just lost a suitor. At the same time, she is feeling the pressure from her younger sisters to accept and marry someone, even if she is not exactly happy with him, just so her younger sister can wed her intended. A retreat to Moonlight Square results in her meeting Gable, Lord Roland, who is searching for his paramour's lost earring. A friendship is initiated with the resulting rollercoaster ride of emotions. The plot twists are occasionally anticipated, but expectations are not always as foreseen. There have been criticisms of the length of the novella, but I found the characters to be well rounded and the story adequately developed for its size. It also introduced minor characters, spiking my interest for further books in the series. And sometimes it's nice to read a romance with wit, angst, and pure foolishness. I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not compensated.

I'm so glad Gaelen Foley has a new series! This is a well written novella and easily read in an evening. Lady Katrina met Gable, Viscount Roland in the neighborhood park on the night she decided she would never find love and be married. They became friends. After another duel over a woman, Gable has orders from his father to marry or lose his funds. He decides to marry her, but she wants to marry for love. Read this to enjoy their journey to happiness. I'm looking forward to their friends finding love in the next one.

I liked the characters and the upcoming ones...this book was around 100 or so was good..there was at times witty banter but somehow this book was to was a little lacking..It would have been better if it was longer, it needed felt rushed at the wanted more passion, chemistry! He was a rake and for me I personally wanted sex scenes..this book didn't have but one quick fooling around. I don't need details but some passion or love scene would have been good since it's a "romance" book.

I really love this book. It's a great prequel novella for the upcoming series that I'm really looking forward to read. I found it romantic, funny, and at some point sensual. It increased my curiosity to read the series wich I was going to read anyways because Gaelen Foley is one of my favorite authors and I read everything she writes. This book it's a most read before the upcoming series, I highly recommend. I received a free copy from the publisher in exchange of an honest review.
