A romance with Ashley and Scott growing up before our eyes. No, I did not read the first two books in this series, but found a complete wonderful novel of growing up with secrets, heartache, love, misconceptions, and abuse that formed lives for years of two different households for the H and h in this story. I thought reading the first part it was a story for teenagers, but found that it extended to over 15 years and a growing process that formed lives due to those lies and secrets. Ashley had a lot of growing up to do and it took her a long time to do it. Scott was such a strong character and the heartache of his life had me stopping a few times to wipe tears during my reading. That said, I loved Scott's attitude and his strong constitution to make his life better than what he was given. "One More Chance" has been out for a while and I would recommend it for everyone's reading list or bookshelf. I requested this book on Reading Deals and was gifted a copy asking for my honest opinion. This is mine. 4.5 Stars!
One month before her senior year was over, Ashley met the love of her life Scott. Scott was a guitarist and he loved Ashley back. I loved the twists and turns of this story. It was excellent. The ups and downs kept you reading to see what happened next. Scott and Ashley were awesome characters as were the rest of the characters. I loved the story and highly recommend. **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**
The story started off well. I understood the direction of the story liked the characters and was looking forward to more. Scott has used all the heartache of his past in launching a successful singing and songwriting career. Ashley also had success in her professional life but in my opinion she seemed to be drifting. I don't think she was sure of herself or what she wanted out of life. In all honesty I think Scott deserved better. I was sympathetic to all these two people had faced but I did not really feel a connection with the story.
I enjoyed the three-set series. All very different but similar format. The male main characters were great and gained strength as the books built. The female main characters needed a little less self-talk and a bit more confidence but I understood his perspective. Easy reading and enjoyed the story lines. Just enough sex and good chemistry development. Felt I really knew the characters.
