One Night by Aleatha Romig, Letitia Hasser RBA Designs

A sweet, fun, and sexy stand-alone romance from New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig.

One night to remember

Is that too much to desire?

One night for fun, passion, and a chance to remember what it's like to be a woman.
I'm not looking for love.
There's a man in my life who loves me with all his heart. He has beautiful blue eyes, is three feet tall, and calls me mommy.
He's my whole world and I'm his. Fate stole his daddy way too soon.
What would happen if I allowed fate another chance, just for one night?

One night to help a friend

Why did I agree to this?

Blind dates are disasters. If I weren't helping the friend of a friend, I wouldn't go.
I'm not looking for romance, love, or even a one-night stand.
After all, the man my friend knew is gone. I'm no longer the hockey star known for his "pep" on the ice and in the sack. I have a new life, and a new career-a new passion. I'm not looking for more.
When the blind date is a bust, could fate change everything?

One night doesn't end with a kiss-it begins with one

Be ready to laugh, cry, and fall head over heels as you meet Leatha, the lighter side of Aleatha in this new sweet and sexy stand-alone romance, ONE NIGHT.

I missed the humor of Plus One. I enjoyed the story and characters. Good sex scenes, just a little disappointed.

Aleatha get back to your dark love stories, please. "Plus One" and this book are just Fanasty love stories like most romance novels. Although a good story, I miss the old Alearha. CB

I absolutely LOVE the lighter side of this wonderful author! It is such a breath of fresh air to read such a wonderful feel-good, honest-to-God romance! It is a great story with real-life characters that I could identify with: Mandy the sweet, young, widowed single mother trying to the very best for her young child and Malcolm the sexy, hot, ex-professional athlete trying to find his place in the world. They come together as strangers, promising only one night. Their one night morphs into a slow burning romance that builds to a long-lasting relationship. One night is not enough for these two! This story is a wonderful, light-hearted read for anyone looking for a quick escape. As much as I prefer Aleatha's darker side, I will honestly read anything she writes since all her stories are written so well. I love the drama of this author's light (& dark!) side. This is a must read for any Aleatha fan!

If you're a fan of Aleatha Romig, you need to read this book. Yes, it's very different from her darker works that she is so famous for. But, Aleatha shows in this book and her other light romance, that she has talent no matter what genre she writes in. One Night centers around a planned "blind date"...that actually never quite happens...or so the characters think. Mandy (Amanda) Wells is a young widow with a 5 year old son. Malcom (Pep) Peppernick is an ex-NHL hockey star, now retired, who went back to school for a career in education. Mandy is sure she can't combine parenting her young son with a romance...and her first priority is her child. Malcolm was once a young sports stud whose reputation said he screwed anything that walked. The two meet, the night of the "supposed blind date" and sparks fly, so they agree to one night together. However, Mandy is very unwilling to allow this handsome man into her life, even though she's extremely attracted to him. Can Mandy learn to let go a bit and allow romance back into her life? This is a nice, sugary sweet romance with some hot sex thrown in. Is it Aleatha's "usual" dark and sordid tale? Definitely, no...but if you are an Aleatha fan, you owe it to her to read this. And if you don't like dark romances, but typically enjoy a sweet hot romance with very likable characters? Then this book is perfect for you and hopefully, you too will become an Aleatha Romig fan.

I know Aleatha Romig from her Consequences series which is a really dark, but really good story. This story was completely the opposite in that it was pretty light and sweet for the most part. But like the other story, this one was still very hard to put down. I enjoyed all the different ways they kind of had the little surprises, like the fact that the blind date actually happened, just not the way they thought it would. I like how everyone ended up in each other's life in really interesting ways, almost had the 7 degrees feel to it. While I was a little frustrated with how much Mandy fought at letting Malcolm come into her life and meet her son any more than the one night stand she started out as wanting, it definitely led to a lot of different ways to keep the story a little bit ahead of all the predictability that might otherwise have been a part of this story. I'm definitely going to continue to read anything by this author that I can get my hands on, as she does a great job at any genre it seems.

Amanda Wells is a young single mother who's had a difficult beginning to adulthood. Soon after she married the father of her child, he is sent away to fight for the army not even being able to take her husband’s last name. They thought they had all the time in the world but unfortunately they didn’t. When the story begins we see how she struggles to have a life as a woman, not only as a professional and a mother. She adores her son and can’t conceive the idea of “placing” him aside to actually have a life, until her Mom and best friend, Sally, convince her to go out on a blind date in order to reconnect with her younger self, MAndy. Malcolm Peppernick is the man Sally chose to introduce to Mandy, her boyfriend and him were teammates some years back and they believe they are the perfect match. He used to be a professional hockey player but recently started a profession that he feels passionate about, teaching. After living a glamorous life as a professional sports man, he feels ready for something else. He accepts his friend's invitation to attend to a blind date even if he’s not up to it. Little did he know that his life was about to chance. Mandy and Malcolm didn’t get to meet their friends or blind dates for dinner, but instead they met each other. Their attraction is real from the beginning, and even if they agree that it’ll only be one night together they can’t seem to keep apart from each other. Under Mandy’s request, they do their best to keep their relationship light and loose, avoiding any personal information and basically any kind of commitment. They’re both having fun, basically finding what they though they never would: love. It is a great story from beginning to end. A single parent finding love is one of my favorite recipes for a love story. I can understand Mandy’s uneasiness about having Malcolm meeting her son, even if he is nothing but wonderful and super interested in her from the beginning. It’s a story that will make you laugh at swoon at the same time. You’ll get to meet Aleatha’s lighter side. It’s a great read!

This is the first time I have read this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet and sexy love story. When I read the synopsis, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a love story of a young widowed mom, a sweet 5-year-old boy and a mature retired hockey player. Delicious! Blind dates are a crap shoot. They more often than not end in disaster or disappointment, as was the case with Amanda’s one night out in years. Her friends that set her up had a work emergency happen and had to cancel. Her date didn’t show. She was all dressed up, had a babysitter and the night was a bust, so she threw caution to the wind. What did she have to lose? Let the fates decide and she started up a conversation with a very handsome and charming stranger. Malcom wasn’t disappointed that his date didn’t show and his friends cancelled. He was seated at the bar next to a very beautiful woman. He and Amanda kept the conversation going and they hit it off. The chemistry was definitely there. Malcolm made his move and Amanda decided she would try to do what her young and carefree self would do five years ago before losing her husband. She would take Malcolm up on his offer of a no strings attached night of passion. Amanda stressed this was one night and one night only. Easier said than done. After their night together, they both felt that pull and that crazy chemistry. Malcolm was all in but Amanda felt guilty and felt that she couldn’t pursue a relationship with Malcolm. Thank goodness for her best friend and mother, they encouraged her to take the stolen moments with Malcolm and just enjoy her time with him. Live a little! Amanda had one little problem. Her son started kindergarten and he wasn’t adjusting. He never had problems in preschool. He is a smart and sweet little boy. She doesn’t want to take time away from him and she certainly didn’t want to introduce Malcolm to her son. That would just be too much for all of them! Malcolm was a very patient man with Amanda. He let her set the pace. He wanted more with her and he was ready to see where this relationship would go. I loved Malcolm and Amanda and the secondary characters were a great supporting cast. This was such a pleasure to read! No heavy drama, plenty of steamy scenes, sweet tender moments and a surprising little twist. I don’t want to give any more away because I want you to enjoy the feels, passion and thrill that is One Night. Grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and curl up with Malcolm and Amanda’s love story!

I love both sides to Aleatha Romig's work. This one had me intrigued. Amanda and Malcolm's story seemed like it would be obvious and maybe in parts it was, yet mostly it wasn't. One Night was meant to be just that, but it turned into everything the more Amanda and Malcolm spent time together, their love grew, but not without the hesitancy of their relationship lasting with the foundation it began. I love the sweet, sexy, sassy side to Aleatha's writing, while it wasn't all swoony it dealt with real and difficult feelings too. I can't wait for more from both sides of Ms. Romig.

One Night is another one of Aleatha Romig's lighter side books. Amanda and Malcolm each separately agree to a blind date that their friends set up for them. When the have a total "meet cute", they hit it off and soon have One Night together. I really thought Ms. Romig did a great job with this lighter book. There were several conversations and situations that had me laughing out loud. I am enjoying reading the softer and lighter side of this author and will definitely keep her contemporary romances on my must purchase lists along with her dark ones.
