Mike Figliuolo has a great concept; forget all the double-speak, hype, and game playing and take an honest look at yourself. The idea that leadership begins within is timeless, yet people often look to gimmicks and quick fixes for leadership growth. Mike helps you to explore what it is that you do and why you do it. He strips away the surface veneer and talks about what it takes to grow and develop as a leader. I personally spent over 6 months working on the concepts in this book, a small chunk at a time. The results were Well Worth It!!! I now have a set of Maxims that I use to guide my day-to-day conduct, as well as to inspire long-term strategic and practical thought. I recommend that you buy this book and settle in for an in-depth look at yourself and what it takes to be an effective leader. Keep a notebook handy and dig deep into this book - in a time when I was really struggling, this ideas in this book were essential in getting myself back on track. This book is a keeper! I find myself referring back to it all the time and have 2 copies - paper for home and e-book for when I travel. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.
