This book may be the perfect romance. This is not a fast paced romance, they don't fall in love at first sight, theirs is a romance that grows. This is a beautiful story about the heir to an Earldom, the grim Viscount, and a bookshop owners daughter. What began with a wager to kiss "Viscount Grim" takes a totally unexpected turn. There are many wonderful secondary characters who play an important role in this story who I hope to see in future. I was drawn in to this story, by the main characters and their journey, it is almost magical, Cinderella like or maybe Snow White. Jessamin's character is a quiet, but determined strength. Lucius, Viscount Grimsby seems a broody, grim, quiet man, who few really know and he likes it that way. I found it very difficult to put this book down, it is well written, with depth and substance that captivated me, and kept me reading. For this one of a kind romance I gave it a well deserved 5-stars, and I truly hope you'll read it too. I highly recommend it!

#1 in "Accidental Heirs" series. An interesting and unique romance with a few twists and turns. Can a Kiss truly lead to a HEA? Well, in this story of passion, guilt, financial troubles, romance and love, it can. Many problems face two strangers, who find more in life than fulfilling others wishes but can they find their own happiness. An interesting, well written tale with a cast of characters who are engaging, endearing and entertaining. An enjoyable and satisfying read. I look forward to the next installment. A delightful read! *Received for an honest review from the publisher via Edelweiss* Rating: 4 Heat rating: Mild Reviewed by: AprilR, courtesy of My Book Addiction and More

I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t think I was in the mood for a historical romance, but I guess somewhere deep down I was very much craving one and I am super glad I was became a part of this tour! I liked all her characters, some I definitely found more appealing than others (I really didn’t care for his sister). Overall even if the story may seem a little slow for others, for me it was a well-paced read from start to finish and I am looking forward to reading more from Christy in the future! *I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.*

Because of a kiss started for the wrongest of motives, Jess and Lucious find a true and profound love. (I cannot say I wouldn't want a Lucious for myself...I do love the brooding types that smile only for me. ;) ) This book is one of those you need to savor. It is slow paced and full of feelings. It's also set in a period of which authors don't write enough. Jessamin, in fact, is a suffragette who writes speeches for meetings and, at the same times, tries to make ends meet with a bookshop that her father has left heavily indebted because of his gambling addiction. When a Lady offers a hundred pounds for a stolen kiss to a Lord Grim(sby) because she feels rejected by him (in a childish and seflish way if you ask me) Jess, desperate to save the shop, rashly accepts... and in so doing starts a series of events to which no one would have thought. I really enjoyed Christy Carlyle's style of writing. I found it perfect for the time she is speaking about, "fluent" and rich. I liked all her characters too, the likeable ones and the ones not so much (I couldn't stand his sister and I would have slapped her a time or two...or three XD). Even if the story is not perfect, many can say it is too slow, for me it was a very good "first read" from this new author. The perfect book to read when you want something that can soothe your mind and engage your feelings. "...she’d felt in their kiss what he had, a strange alchemy of need and desire, a sense that whatever he’d been seeking might have finally been found"

My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars A bribe turns into the love of a lifetime. Once Scandalous Kiss took two delightful characters and made me fall for them page by page. Jessamin was one of those characters that over analyze. She made decisions based on logic and was surprised when her emotions came into play. With one kiss Lucius knows his life has changed. A nobleman who is more focused on the responsibilities his title entails, he is captivated by the woman bold enough to bring him out of his shell. Christy Carlyle has in One Scandalous Kiss written an emotionally fulfilling story. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Too much inner agonizing over issues thatif she truly was comfident as the author wanted us to believe she would not worry over her so called flaws. She just ran away when confronted... Weak very week.

Desperate to save her father's failing bookshop, Jessamin Wright accepts a scorned nobleman's daughter's offer of 100 pounds to publicly kiss Lucius Crawford, Viscount Grismby. The scheme has unintended consequences for all parties when that one kiss rocks staid and sober Lucius to his core and ignites Jessamin's romantic nature as well. In the aftermath of the scandal created by the kiss, Jessamin loses her bookshop, and has to take a position as companion--to Lucius's aunt. Lucius is expected to marry rich to rebuild his crumbling estate, but he cannot forget the only woman he has ever truly desired. In her new employment, Jessamin has a front row seat when an American heiress is brought to Lucius's home to make an expected match. How will Jessamin be able to watch the man she desires court another woman? How can Lucius forget the kiss that set him aflame and woo a woman he does not desire when Jessamin is right in front of him? Will Lucius do his duty and marry for money and position, or will he follow his heart and marry a bankrupt former bookshop owner? This delightful novel kept me entertained from start to finish. I found it fun, innovative and engaging. The characters were drawn with care and made very vivid and multi-dimensional, so it was impossible not to be drawn into their dilemma. I thoroughly enjoyed this quick read and will definitely read more of Christy Carlyle's books in the future.

This is my first book by Christy Carlyle, but it won't be my last. I loved this book and the writing. I liked how there were really no "bad guys", I liked the secondary Characters and hope to see their stories in the future. This is the first book in the "Accidental Heirs" series. Our heroine is Jessamin Wright, who is running her father's book store since he has past away. Her father left her with a lot of debts. Jessamin is talked into kissing our hero, Lucius Crawford, Viscount Grimsb for money. Jessamin thinking that the money would help her greatly with her bills decieds to go ahead with the plan. Lucius is not really a bad guy. He is a serious person with family debts too that he is trying to work on. Lucius plan is to marry a for money...but once that kiss happens it puts them both on a different path. I really loved this story and had to read it in one day! I hope that you find you like this book too!
