Overview

Tequila Key is just like any other small town and I'm just like any other small town psychic. Scratch that. Tequila Key is a world onto itself and some people might think that I am one crayon short of the box. And, if we're being totally honest, Tequila Key is just like any other small town - if that town boasts a voodoo priestess and a few white witches for flavor. Turquoise blue water and the best margaritas this side of Mexico make it hard to leave. I'm Althea Rose, co-owner of Luna Rose Potions & Tarot Shop, and I've just stumbled into a love triangle while trying to save my best friend from being accused of murder. See? Just like any other small town.

Aside from the predictable love triangle, the story flowed well and was really enjoyable. The characters were believable and likable. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Well written, characters are fun and the story is complex enough to hold your interest while being a light and funny. Great beach books. Glad I found a new author and can’t wait for the next one.

I enjoyed this. It was sweet and funny. The characters were well written. I picked up several free first books in series, but put all of them down after a chapter or two - until this one. This book kept my attention all the way through.

More of a Romance Novel than a Mystery One aspect of cozies that bothers me - at least in ones that are not well-written - is the overuse of "snorting" (as in, laughing), "moaning" (as when the character eats something that tastes good), and over-attention to the male character/love interest who has "rippling muscles" and all the other cliches. This book is full of those kinds of cliches.. Additionally, the references to paganism are all wrong, more of the "Charmed" variety than anything that would actually reflect a rudimentary understanding of pagan practices (along with the designation of "white witch", something that is not used by any serious pagan, ever). The book spends far too much time on the romantic musings of a rather insipid protagonist. The police chief is a walking stereotype, and the author makes the mistake of having him come off as hostile right off the bat, which is the wrong way to introduce a character (and not the way real people talk). Just an awful read and I am deleting it off my Nook after I finish this review. Glad I didn't pay for it.
