I loved it! It's very hard these days to write a book that isn't like others-and yes, it was predictable in some parts but it also had different plot twists that i enjoyed! There is language and sex in this book, so i recommend 16 and up. Was a great book, will be looking at other books from this aithor.

This story line is somewhat different in a good way. I loved How the main characters were drawn together from the start. The h & h were strong and smart which is refreshing. They had real life problems that draws you in. I was sucked in from the start. A must read!!!!

When in Paris... by Beverley Kendall (4.5/5) I'm becoming a huge fan of Beverley Kendall, she writes books that are engaging and realistic. When in Paris did not disappointed me at all. From the characters to the lovely setting of Paris, everything tied in very well and it made it enjoyable to read. Olivia is a very relatable character, I found myself connecting with what she was going through (because I'm going through it myself). As a college freshman, she was expecting to leave everything behind and enjoy her new school/life. What she wasn't expecting to see was Zach (her high school crush). When they end up taking French class together, neither of them expected to find new adventures in Paris, especially love. As the two of them start to admit their attraction towards each other, it'll take much more to get their relationship to survive. Now what I didn't quiet like about the book was Ashley, Zach's ex-girlfriend. She got in the way a lot, but it did made the story fast paced and interesting.  The story was beautifully written and I loved the romantic moments between Zach and Olivia. Zach made everything better with his sweet and charming personality. While Olivia stood strong apart from everything that was going on around her. Overall, When in Paris is a great coming of age romance with a glimpse of the city of love.

LOVED IT!! Definitely a 4.5 stars. This book was cute and sexy and everything in between! This story was great. It's a great love story, but it's not ONLY a love story. You get the romance between Olivia and Zach, but you also learn about their friends and family as well. The dynamics of their relationship was spot on. I found myself face-palming a few times. For instance, if you're going to get sexually involved with someone you should probably discuss the relationship and where it's going/not going beforehand. But it's not unbelievable for 18 year-olds to skip that part. So I didn't fault the author at all, it was definitely realistic. There were a few time I was thinking "geez Olivia" when she would get jealous over nothing, but then again it was totally believable. The only part that really bothered me was the Ashley storyline. It irked me that her family and Zach let it go on for so long. Clearly she was unhinged and needed professional help. It was not his responsibility to coddle her. I know it's a book, but this kind of think happens too much in today's society. The mental health system in this country (USA) needs a complete overhaul. Sorry to go off on a tangent, mental health awareness is just a topic close to my heart. I thoroughly enjoyed the sexiness of this book too! hehe I just really hope they didn't have sex in missionary every time, because it sure sounded that way. The sex scenes were so much better written than plenty of adult romance books I've read. I was actually finding myself pretty jealous at times because I wish I had had that in college. Ok, changing topics. I really liked Zach. He wasn't some tough guy womanizer (Read: Travis Maddox) that got on my nerves. He was a good guy, but with enough charisma, charm, and intrigue to keep you interested. Not to mention he was a total romantic sweetheart, without being sappy and annoying. I loved how he opened the door for Olivia, walked her to her door, waited for her to drive off ensuring the car was in good shape, etc. It was just so sweet! Also, Beverly Kendall is an enthralling writer. Her use of imagery was superb. I had a crystal clear picture of what was going on throughout the book. I also loved the characters inner monologues. Zach's might have been a little cliche as the typical horny teenager at times, but I guess that's accurate, so I can't fault the author. I found myself laughing at Olivia's thoughts from time to time. I also really enjoyed the switching of POVs. I like being able to know what each main character is thinking especially in controversial/important scenes. All in all, if you're looking for a sexy coming of age romance with a good story behind it then this is the book for you!

Beverley Kendall succeeded in giving substance to her characters Absorbent.  I was surprised to find myself captivated by  Zach's and Olivia's adventures. Nothing new: it is a complicated love running on a campus like many other stories of this style with roommates, classes, parties and immature reactions. But Beverley Kendall succeeded in giving substance to her characters. The emotions felt by Olivia and Zach, their confusions and questions make you smile, shake your head or raise an eyebrow. In short, you are participating in the group dynamics.  Beyond the main love story, there are also heartaches of the secondary characters. Fun, addictive and intriguing, a entertaining story. The author also infuses some mystery, by having one of the protagonists who keeps secrets that nevertheless have a significant impact. Once revealed, they help to better understand the misunderstandings and aberrant reactions. Personally, this romance made me have a good time. I'm curious at what will happen with the rest of the group. In particular, in "Those Nights in Montreal", where Rebecca and Scott will shed light on their relationship.  I can not wait to put my hands on it! Lucie

When in Paris by Beverley Kendall Language of Love Series Book 1 Olivia Montgomery has left the past behind in Maryland as she moves on to college. At least that was what she thought until the past walks into her French class looking as handsome and sexy as always. He also gives her the same look as always, the one that says he can like anyone in the world….but her. Zachary Pearson couldn’t believe out of all the schools Olivia is in the same one as his. He fought through four years of high school to ignore her. With her blonde hair and gorgeous body making an all around beautiful package, ignoring her wasn’t easy then….and even harder now. Like he needs more to deal with besides a dad plotting his career and a crazy ex who won’t accept that it’s over. I really liked the way the author wrote each character as first person and it was always clear who was speaking, as if you were watching the story happen through their eyes. This couple have many ups and downs and their emotions come through loud and clear. There are also a couple side stories going on that will be part of the next two books; Those Nights in Montreal and April in Milan. **Sexual Content and Language **Received through NetGalley for review

Zach character would be more appropriate in high school. Immature and that is always unattractive. Liv could do better

After generously receiving this book in return for a genuine review, I could say it was a great read.  I couldn't seem to put it down. The relationships in this book are so sweet and complicated. In some places it was a little flat and the resolutions to some of the complications that occur seem to occur a little fast leaning a little to much on the love blinds motto. I would have loved to have seen a few more flashbacks to high school especially from Zach's POV. But all in all this is a great heartwarming read. I can't wait to read about the other relationships that are occurring in this group of friends.  Thank you for the opportunity to read this loving story.

I've already re-read it twice! To say Olivia Montgomery is surprised when she runs into her high school crush Zachary Pearson at college, would be an understatement.  She's never been able to figure out why he ran so cold when it came to her. Zachary has always wanted Olivia but knows he can't have her. When the two end up having French class together, things look like they might change. You know when you re-read a story or a book that you love it.  Especially when you do it in a short period of time. Just saying.  The story reels you in from the first page and you're trying to figure out what it is that's keeping Olivia and Zach apart, while you're fanning yourself from the heat. Zach is hot, but combine him with Olivia and the chemistry between them is nuclear. I really enjoyed the peeks at their friends, and the leads for their own novellas and books to come. Beverley Kendall writes romance, but has only written historical romance novels up until now. She can now add successful new adult contemporary author to that list as well. I guarantee I will be reading whatever comes next.

Oh my gosh for the past few days I have been reading Beverly Kendall's recent book When In Paris. I have read Ms. Kendall's historical novels, by the way love. However, she has ventured out of historical romance novels to New Adult. I know you're probably wondering, "what's that?" Well, it's not quite Young Adult, but it's not quite Adult more like that in-between. So, now you are wondering what's When In Paris is all about: Olivia Montgomery is starting her new life as a college fresh. How exciting, right? Ready move on to the next step in her life. Everything was going swimming up until a blast from her past walks into her french class, Zachary Pearson. Olivia has always had a crush on Zach, but he has always disliked her or so she thought.  I loved this story. Really, I did. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading the story, but I fell in love with the characters. I actually love that it starts off in college. Granted I'm not a huge fan of college antics (I must be getting old), but I really enjoyed the story moved along.  At the beginning of the story, you see Olivia and Zach trying to be friends, because both of there roommates are best friend from high school. If Zach and Olivia can't get past their high school past, it will make get togethers kind of awkward. Granted there are some awkward moments in the book and makes me appreciate I'm not the one in those situation.  They have there rocky start, but seems to go well once they get to Paris. All hell breaks lose once they get back to the states and their separate definitions of what they have. Plus, it doesn't help that Zach PSYCHO ex-girlfriend keeps butting into their lives. Wow, and there was so many ways that Ms. Kendall could have gone with Zach's ex.  Overall, I loved the story. Here's why: 1) Had me snickering throughout the book. 2) The oh lord moments (you need those in college). 3) I actually enjoyed how it would go back and forth with Olivia's point of view then to Zach's point of view. Not something you see to often books; however, it really works for this story. 5) I can't wait to see more from of the Language of Love books. Seriously, I lost sleep reading this book. So, if you are looking for something new to read you might want to checkout When In Paris, you won't be sorry. I hope you have wonderful day and see you in a few days.
