Unfortunately, the killer left behind no evidence, leaving Stan almost nothing go to on and under immense pressure from the Chief to solve the case quickly, or let it go cold.
Meanwhile, the killer's rage is spiraling out of control. He feels that he's doing the world a favor and has no intention of stopping.
Will Stan's instincts once again come through on this case? If he doesn't catch a break - and soon - he'll be forced to move on, letting the killer run free.

A young prostitute is brutally murdered.... so horrendous that even the cops could barely stand in the same room with what was left of her. Homicide Detective Stan Brookshire and his partner, Jane, are called in to investigate. With no clues, no witnesses, and under extreme pressure from higher up to either solve the case or let it go ... where do they start? Letting it go is not an option for Stan. The killer's rage is spiraling out of control and he's watching the police very closely... This is not the most suspenseful murder mystery I have ever read. The ending was anti-climatic. The book's saving grace are Stan and Jane. I absolutely love their interaction with each other. They remind me of an old married couple. There's sarcasm, there's humor, and there is always caring between them. They are one of the best homicide teams there are ... they are both bull dogs and just don't let go easily, if at all. It's entertaining if you aren't looking for any surprises or twists. Thanks to the author / NetGalley who provided a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
