Overview

Simone de Beauvoir created a man who lived forever and called her book Tous les Hommes Sont Mortels. We created a woman who enters the lives of other women, and sometimes merges in full with them. We called our book Only Women Are Truly Immortal. In the end, we are not really disagreeing with Simone, since Tous les Hommes Sont Mortels means All Men Are Mortal, but it is as if we were reacting to her book. Maria gets to have several men because she lives the life of several women.
