Ivy League schools on average reject some 90 percent of applicants. But there is another way to get into the top colleges in the United States—the back gate—that will still see motivated students come out the front gate with an Ivy League diploma.
This book is the plan B that offers you an alternative set of keys to seven of the Ivy League universities: Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Pennsylvania (Penn), and Brown. Also covered are the so-called second tier of elite universities, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Duke, Northwestern, and University of Virginia, among others, which have highly selective admission requirements and confer social and economic benefits on par with the traditional Ivy Leagues.
From extension schools to special programs for working students to online studies, the range of back gateways is remarkable for leveling the field for students of all stripes. This book provides the little-known strategies to help you succeed in enrolling in the school of your dreams.

My daughter has always been a great student, yet she worries about being accepted into her dream school: Northwestern. I keep telling her to have faith in herself, and she's only a sophomore right now so her feelings about picking a college could change in the near future. However, I stumbled upon this book and I am so glad that I did. The title addresses ways to get accepted into Ivy League institutions, but inside there is also a great amount of information regarding the "back door" to not only Northwestern, but many other prestigious schools just outside of the Ivy League. Mr. Henderson's writing style is an asset to the nature of this publication. He incorporates wit and stories of individuals that have gone through the application process of these colleges and experienced both rejection and acceptance. Along with the actual information of HOW to get into these schools that you feel like you belong to, I have to say that it was a great read. I passed the book along to my daughter, and it has set even more of a fire underneath her to reach her goal. Thank you, Mr. Henderson!
... I would travel back in time to my senior year of high school--and I would take this book with me. It's possible that I would have a degree from Harvard University hanging on the wall in my office today. "Open the Gates to the Ivy League" is a dream come true for any college-bound student who yearns for a shot at the Ivy League (and/or other top tier universities across the nation). It's no secret that the college admissions game has become increasingly competitive, which is why this book is certain to cause many (those who may be financially strapped, those who may have experienced an academic misstep along the way, etc.) to breathe a much-needed sigh of relief, and quite possibly, not lose sight of (or abandon altogether) their personal, professional and academic goals. This is a must-read for college-bound students of all ages, as well as their parents, teachers and school advisers. Well done, Mr. Henderson.
This book is great! It was simple to read and provided useful information for getting into a prestigious Ivy League school. Open the Gates to the Ivy League details and describes how ANY college-bound student can have the opportunity to attend an Ivy League school via alternative paths. A MUST READ!
This book is amazing and has been a real eye opener!
Mr. Henderson has finally offered a realistic alternative for those with children whose scholastic achievements aren't in that brilliant top one percent the Ivy League universities seek. I had no idea these alternative pathways existed, and I'm sure that's an ignorance shared by a lot of parents. The information in this book will make it possible for many more deserving students to find admittance to an Ivy League school. And as a parent, you can now feel you have a decent chance to make your kid one of them.
