Part 1 of an Action-Packed 5-part Serial Novel!

They want answers. They want redemption. And they want to live.   Five years ago, six soldiers made American military history as the first all-female Special Forces team, named Zulu. A tragic mistake in Misrata, Libya, leaves twenty-two innocents dead and Zulu fleeing for their lives. Now Jessica Herring and Candice Reyna are dead at the hand of an assassin, and Keeley Shay clings to life in a hospital. The last three Zulu members are forced into a fight for answers, for redemption, and for their very lives.  Annie Palermo and Téya Reiker had settled into their hidden identities when their lives are upended and their loved ones attacked. Annie’s flame, Samuel Caliguari, is a former Navy SEAL who can hold his own, but the attack leaves Annie livid—and fleeing once again. When Téya’s Amish loved ones are threatened, she must also hide. But how can she not go back and protect these peace-loving people, no matter the risk?  Nuala King never really settled after Misrata, and she can’t shake the horror of the disastrous mission, the lives lost, or the terrible nightmares that still haunt her.  Lieutenant Colonel Trace Weston and his right-hand man, Chief Warrant Officer Boone Ramage, struggle to hold the Zulu remnant together. They must track down who hit the team and deliver justice to the enemy—if Sam Caliguari and relentless Army intelligence analyst Lieutenant Francesca Solomon don’t get them all killed first. . . .

Talk about intense! This is the first serial novel I've read, and it was an interesting format. It felt like a TV drama episode, how it kept switching between points of view to keep the pace fast-moving. The premise of an all-female special forces team definitely caught my attention, and the author made it seem realistic by not making them all best buddies, but individual soldiers with distinctly different strengths and personalities. There is plenty of action and suspense, with some relationship drama thrown in at moments. It was frustrating at first how little the investigating team knew about the case after five years, but each part of the novel quickly adds more information and takes the plot to a whole new level.

This author has done it again. I have read all of Ronie Kendig's books and have enjoyed all of them. This is an excellent book as usual. If you like military action this series is for you. You are kept wondering until the very last book "who done it". It also shows the tight friendship that develops and how each loss affects each person. You won't be disappointed if you get this series.

What is more exciting than reading about a Spec Ops team? Right—an all-female Special Forces team! Kendig created some strong characters in this latest work and kept the tension high. After a mission gone very wrong, the members of the Zulu Special Forces team, are sent back to the United States and must take on a new identity as their lives are in danger. However, after five years they are found out and uncovered. Two team members end up dead and one is in a life-threatening condition. The other women are brought to a safe house. While trying to figure out who is after them, they run into a new dangerous situation. Will they once again escape from their attacker’s hand?  As always, Kendig has written an ‘on the edge of my seat’ tale that kept me turning the pages.  Can’t wait to see how the series continues!

Goodness gracious, the suspense is killing me! Fantastic, nail-biting action once again. What is left of Team Zulu is in hiding, but trying to track down who started this. During it all – the nightmare that shoved them into hiding keeps haunting them from every corner. It seems the only way to find answers might be to open all those wounds back up!  Great interactions and dialogue between all the characters. I really love how Ronie gives each one a distinct personality and their own story, which you find out more about each one in this installment. It is just as explosively awesome as the first.  Digging a little deeper, the team finds out some people may not be the good guys. They also decide hiding is a little too restrictive! You have to read it to find out what happens!

This is a serial novel which should be read in order. Positive note is that the remaining parts are being published weekly, so the wait isn't long to finish the book. The action was fast & furious in the Overture and continues here with no lag time. You learn more about the characters and their mission.  Time VERY well spent, you won't regret reading a Kendig novel!v A digital copy was provided to me by NetGalley for review purposes, but my words are mine alone.

The adrenaline rush continues with the first full length episode Collateral Damage (released July 18th). The plot thickens as the team scrambles to get their bearings and determine just who has placed a giant target on their backs. For the reader this is where the details start to fill in, the personalities of the characters become more prominent, and the interactions amongst them burst to life. Ronie Kendig has assembled a top-notch cast of characters with great synergy. Each has an intricate backstory that is revealed through this first episode. Annie’s Navy SEAL heartthrob and Téya’s Amish beau make it difficult for these ladies to remain in hiding – my favorite aspect of the story so far. The queen of cliff-hangers, Ronie Kendig has me waiting with bated breath for Part 2 – Out of Nowhere!

Pulsating, intense - a top-priority read! I don't know whether to be glad or exasperated that this is a serialized novel. On the one hand, I'm not sure my heart could take it all at once, and I KNOW I wouldn't be able to put it down. On the other hand, waiting a week between each installment is already about to make me crazy! While the FREE teaser/prologue Overkill: The Beginning was heart-stopping, Kendig was just getting warmed up! Collateral Damage plunges the reader straight into the non-stop action--and the emotion!--of this fast-paced thriller. Not a scene or word is wasted as the story unfolds and the team's lives unravel. Pulsating, intense, and sure to leave you gasping for breath Collateral Damage is a top-priority reading assignment. Don't miss it! Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a copy of this this e-book from Ronie Kendig and Barbour Publishing as part of a blog tour. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Operation Zulu: Part1 Collateral Damage By: Ronie Kendig A Team in trouble and no one can figure out who is killing them off. Being in a safe house is okay but after awhile the walls begin to close in and tempers flare. None of that will help the team in their objective, Find and neutralize the threat! There is evidence all around them, memories cluttered with images but how will they find the truth if they are constantly on the defensive, simply trying to survive? With every member of the team at risk as well as their family members and friends the urgency of the situation hits hard. Trained as an elite team the women of Zulu feel powerless. The fast paced action of this series leaves me wishing the next episode was available tomorrow, not at the end of the week. Yeah, I know, three days. But That’s Three Days! Like a kid waiting for her birthday I want to open the next episode so I can find out what is happening. Buy, Read & Enjoy!!

The pace from Overkill to Collateral is Rapid ! Each page has a new twist that can pull you deeper into the suspense of the words. Ronie Kendig is a master of painting words to lure us further into the world of the Military, intrigue, espionage, terrorism and love.  Layer upon layer of each of the team Zulu's personalities are unfolding and though we cannot walk in their shoes, we get a glimpse of who they are and who they were.  I like Annie and I like Sam. But then Trace Weston and Annie had a past connection. Then there is Francesca ( Frankie ) Solomon who hates Trace--but is there going to be a love connection there ?  Teya and Nuala from the Team have their past opened up and will their lives ever be the same again.  Boone, Trace's  right hand -go to guy--is his heart left behind in a hospital room with Keeley as she is on life support ?  Team Zulu was set up for failure, and I think I know who set them up. But then Ronie has created many avenues one can take--like a maze or a spider web. I will take some of those avenues because in her brilliant talent -Ronie has lured me on.  Collateral Damage is only the second portion. I am so waiting for the third portion--Out of Nowhere. The title alone tells me we are in for another Rapid-Fire-Fiction trip.    I was asked by Barbour Publishing to give a review on each portion of novel by Ronie Kendig. These are my own words and I love the book.

Action packed fiction with real emotions! Get ready to be obsessed!  In Operation Zulu Redemption: Collateral Damage you will learn a lot more about the ladies of the first all women Special Forces team. Kendig gives us more history on who they were for 5 years after the team split up, and who they were when the team was together. On the hunt to find who is targeting them, the ladies travel with Boone, Trace, and Houston, to Las Vegas, Nevada in order to search their friend and former team member Jessica’s home. Frankie Solomon is on a rampage to find Trace and prove his guilt. And the ladies are climbing the walls itching to do something to solve the mystery. You have to read this book to find out everything that happens in this action-packed episode. It was so hard to put down, and when I finally went to bed, I just lay there thinking about what could possibly happen next. I can’t wait to read the next episode, the waiting is torture, but totally worth it!!

Another action-packed installment!  While part of me likes that this is a serialization and that we get a new addition to the story every week instead of every year, I'm not sure my heart can take the cliffhangers Ronie leaves us on! When I flipped the Kindle page and realized this installment was done and ended where it did, I yelled "what?!" I loved this installment and the further glimpse into these characters. I honestly can't pick a favorite, I feel invested in them all, and want to know more of their backstories and what their future holds. Ronie Kendig has a fantastic writing style that gets you so sucked in, you forget you're reading a fictional story and swear these character live around the corner. So excited for the next installment and more adrenaline rushes!

4 STARS I was not ready for this episode to be over! I tried to see what the future episodes were about by reading on Amazon and they all say the same thing! So no helpful hints for me. Lots of drama, action starts right from the beginning of Collateral Damage and goes till the end. The characters we learn a little more about them especially one of the deceased Zulu members Jamie. I like her apartment! We meet a few new characters in this episode. Like Lieutent Francesca Solomon's family. She wants to prove that her father was innocent and place the blame on Trace Weston where she knows it belongs. She is sure he is guilty and thinks he is killing the women and covering it up. The setting for this book is the United States. They go to a few different states from Washington to Nevada to Colorado. We learn a little more about what happened five years ago. I know who I don't trust but it is probably a red herring this early into the series. The women are ready to fight back. There were cliffhangers from the Beginning and they were resolved besides the guilty parties ect. There are new cliffhangers in Collateral Damage. They leave you anxious to keep reading and being involved in their lives. I like the characters. I don't know who I want Annie to be with. Teya wants to go back to the Amish life she left and that seems like it would be a big obstacle to overcome. I was given this ebook to read so that I could give it a honest review of it by Net Galley, Barbour Publishing, Inc. Shiloh Run Studios

Collateral Damage-Part 1 picks up where Overkill-The Beginning left off. We get more information about what really happened five years earlier that sent these highly trained women into hiding. There is a ton of action, once again, and the author continues to add depth in subtle layers. The characters, who already were interesting and attention-grabbing in the first episode, now become even more so as we dig deeper into who these highly trained soldiers are. The aftermath of the tragedy that they were embroiled in has affected them all deeply. Collateral Damage takes the story further by diving into what went wrong in the past, while offering danger and some close calls in the present as the team works to determine who is trying to take them down. Will Team Zulu be able to stop any more collateral damage from occurring? This installment is just as fabulous as the first and I am on pins and needles waiting to read the next! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.
