Hide ya kids, hide ya wives and hide ya laptops because everybody's favorite Glow Worm is back, and he's ready for war. OPPOSITION has all of the suspense, thrills and face-fanning romance we've come to expect from Jennifer L. Armentrout and her hot aliens, and she delivers a fantastic ending to the Lux series! When I got to the end, I wanted to go back to the beginning and do it all over again starting with OBSIDIAN. I'm sad to say to goodbye to these characters, but it's been a great ride. And I'll never look at West Virginians the same way again. ;)

This series ends really well. Definitely a favorite series of mine. And I'll have all five books signed and personalized, which is really great! I see JLA at the Baltimore Book Festival in September, and this festival is every year, so that's kind of nice. ANYWAY. I'm being vague about this book on purpose. I really liked how everything came full circle in this book. Even the ending is connected to the beginning of this series - you'll know exactly what I mean, when you read this book. But everything, everything is so perfectly done. Like, in the first three books, you wonder what Luc is. In books four and five, you get to know exactly what he is. JLA connects Obsession, her adult book in the Lux world, to this series. Daemon has a cameo in Obsession, but we see some familiar Arum in this final book (as one would expected, after Obsession, Origin, etc., in which Luc told Daemon not to make enemies with Hunter, and Luc extracted a promise of a favor from Hunter. Like duhhh, I expected some reappearances. It’s always bittersweet to read the final book in a series, and I always begin reading with a mix of excitement and trepidation. And with a much-loved series like Lux, I desperately hoped it to would meet every expectation. I’m happy to say that Jennifer Armentrout has once again proven she can end a series phenomenally. Opposition delivers an epic finale that had my heart racing, tears threatening to spill, and ultimately, me grinning widely. I loved it. Fans of the series will relish in the action, humor and romance and I promise you’ll be on a happy high by its heartfelt end. I love that we were able to see and experience how much Daemon and Katy love each other in this book, but those passionate moments are also tempered by their one-of-a-kind banter… that sexy wit that makes it all so them, so true to who they are.

This was a wonderful conclusion to a beautifull and well written story. I can't describe how exceptionally crafted and scripted this entire trip with Kat and Dameon turned out to be. Incredible author that, without a doubt, knows how to bring her story to a bittersweet, but heartwarming finale!

I have such mixed emotions. I can't believe the series is over. I don't want it to end, but what a way to go out. This book has all the excitement, all the feels, and all the DAEMON you can ask for. It's a crazy bumpy ride from the first page. I couldn't put it down. I laughed, I cried, and I freaked out many times until the very last line. If you love this series, you will love the ending. Only I wish this wasn't the end. Knowing that Katy and Daemon won't be coming back is heart breaking. But then again...there are always re-reads. Thanks Jennifer Armentrout for such a wild ride!

***Review posted on The Eater of Books! blog*** Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout Book Five of the Lux series Publisher: Entangled Teen Publication Date: August 5, 2014 Rating: 4 stars Source: Paperback copy bought Summary (from Goodreads): Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came. She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all. Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal. They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind. War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing. What I Liked: Spoiler-free review! In terms of Opposition. There may be spoilers for books one through four. Ooo, what a great conclusion novel! I have to admit, I wasn't a fan of having to wait for two more books, when Jen announced that there would be two more books after Opal. However, I can't imagine this series ending with Opal. Everything comes full circle in this book. There would be no mention of the Origins, no explanation of what Luc is, no inclusion of Hunter and Serena from Obsession, if two more books hadn't been added to this series. For once, I'm immensely grateful for the addition of more books to a series. This book does not start at all how I expected it to start. At the end of Origin, hundreds of Luxen were landing on Earth, coming to investigate the state of affairs. Daemon, Dawson, and Dee leave Archer, Luc, Beth, and Katy at the cabin. When Archer and Katy leave the cabin to run an errand, they are ambushed by Luxen. Archer gets away... but Katy doesn't. Dawson hits her with a blast of Source. Dawson. When Katy comes to, she finds that Dee hates her, and Daemon acts like he doesn't love her, just wants her physically. It's a sham, but Katy doesn't know that. So this book starts really weirdly. I couldn't get into things... not until Daemon cracks the facade, when someone touches Katy. Katy, Daemon, and Dawson escape, but Dee is still under the Luxen thrall, and will not leave. Katy and the gang must find a way to stop the non-peaceful Luxen from killing everyone, and to stop the humans (like Husher) from destroying everything. Like I said before, I really liked how everything came full circle in this book. Katy and Daemon are so solid, in terms of their characters/personalities, and in their relationship. Even after the beginning of this book, in which Daemon had to deceive Katy in order to keep the nature of their relationship (and her) safe, Katy knew in the back of her head that it couldn't be true. I love the depth of their relationship, their trust, their interdependence. Five books is a long time to solidify and cement a relationship. JLA is a master at crafting relationships as strong and as deep as Katy and Daemon's. I REFUSE TO BE SPECIFIC. In terms of anything (unless I've already said it). But the plot is great, in this book! You look at the page count and see 500 pages, you get scared, eh? Thinking that it's another one of those epic conclusion novels that are killer, in terms of length. Authors like to fit two books into one conclusion novel, which is actually really annoying. WELL. JLA is awesome, because the ACTUAL Opposition book is like, 350 pages (a little less, I believe). Shadows is in the back of this book. So don't worry too much! The actual fifth book is a "regular" length novel. Basically... this book ends really well. This series ends really well. Definitely a favorite series of mine. And I'll have all five books signed and personalized, which is really great! I see JLA at the Baltimore Book Festival in September, and this festival is every year, so that's kind of nice. ANYWAY. I'm being vague about this book on purpose. No spoilers! What I Did Not Like: I can't think of anything too specific to mention here... it's a really great ending to an awesome series! Would I Recommend It: If you've read any number of books in this series, definitely keep going. Obsidian was my favorite, but each of the successive books were excellent. 4 stars was the lowest rating I gave any book in this series - and that's rare, especially for a five-book series! Also, this is a great series to binge-read! Rating: 4 stars. This series ending wasn't too bittersweet! The ending isn't wrapped up with a pretty bow, but it ends very well. Death and life are welcome in this conclusion novel, and I love how JLA weaves the two into the story. An excellent series, JLA!

First he said he didn't want to have anything to do with her. Later, he said he would burn the world down to save her. The ride has been bumpy and scary and heartbreaking and sweet. Through it all, Daemon and Katy have had this incredible relationship that hasn't always been easy. Hell, sometimes, it's been absolutely deadly. But, their connection and dedication to one another has kept thousands of fans clinging to the edge of their seats, wondering what was going to happen to them next. The edge of my seat is where I spent most of my time reading Opposition. The Luxen have come to Earth, and they are pissed. They are ready for a take-over, and they want all hands on deck. That means Daemon, Dawson and Dee, much to Katy's surprise. But, Katy won't let the Luxen destroy all she has built with Daemon. She won't go down without a fight either. And, a fight is what is coming. This is it. The Lux series has come to an end with Opposition. This book was a pretty incredible ending to a pretty incredible series. I remember where I was when I first heard about Obsidian. The cover had just been redesigned and was getting ready for re-release. My bestie Jen from At Random met me for lunch and told me about Jennifer Armentrout and a giveaway she was having in honor of the redesign. I was all, "A book about aliens in high school? Yeeeeah. I'll give it a try Jen. Suuuuure." A year and a half later, I was waiting on pins and needles for the final book to be released to see how Daemon's and Katy's story ended. To be honest, I stayed on pins and needles through most of Opposition. It was a stressful book, to be sure. For awhile, you weren't quite sure which side Daemon, Dawson and Dee had landed on. I knew, though, that there's no way Daemon and Katy could stay apart. They will always find a way back to each other. "Kat... I broke every rule of my kind to heal you and keep you with me...I've killed for you. Did you think I'd forget what you mean to me? That anything in this world - in any world - would be stronger than my love for you?" Opposition was completely action packed from the very beginning through the very end. Aliens have literally invaded Earth. Everything you think that entails happens. Murder. Mayhem. Anarchy. It's scary and crazy and I LOVE that Jennifer Armentrout pulled no punches with this finale. I also love that we see lots of friends from other Lux books - including her adult companion, Obsession. Yes, Hunter and Serena are in this one, as are Hunter's brothers. It was fun seeing him again and watching he and Daemon interact - you know, seeing as how they're mortal enemies and all. Despite the very serious overtone of Opposition, Jennifer's trademark snarky language and witty banter are still there. Daemon and Katy still have those toe-curling moments that make you swoon. It's not all doom and gloom, and thank goodness for that. This was the send-off that this amazing series needed. It's all there - action, romance, and an incredible ending that makes everything - EVERYTHING - totally worth it.

I've just finished rereading the first 4 books getting ready for this one. The FINAL, LAST book. Give me a second to rock in the cornor and cry. My Glowworm is not going to go all Litebrite anymore. Thank goodness I own these books so that I can be with Daemon and Katy anytime I want! Such a great ending. Everyone had their place but it still leaves the door open for more Arum, more Luc, and more Origins. I am so glad that Katy handled herself like the brave badass we have all grown to love. Great series. Great laugh out loud moments. Great crying & wth moments. If you haven't read this series, stop what you are doing and go fall in love with our favorite aliens.

Noooo it's all over!!! As always Jennifer L. Armentrout doesn't disappoint with finishing a series. I cried when I finished the book, I'm losing Katy and Daemon it feels like. I loved loved loved this series!!!! Thank you for another AMAZING ending!

I'm still not emotionally stable after finishing this book. I love Katy and Daemon SO MUCH. I'm not ready to let them go. Jennifer did a great job ending out the series in my opinion. I wasn't too crazy about the actual line that the book ended with, but the way things resolved left me feeling mostly satisfied. I JUST WANT MORE OF KATY AND DAEMON AND THEIR PERFECT CHEMISTRY AND UGHHHHH!!!!!

Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout is the 5th and final book in her wonderful Lux series. Let me start off by saying I have so much respect for Jennifer Armentrout, as a writer, and for giving us such wonderful exciting and befitting end to the Lux series. When we last left off in Origin, the Luxens had arrived in full force, and Daemon, Dawson and Dee disappeared seemingly to join with the Luxens. At the start of Opposition, Katy waits by the window praying for them to return. Beth is pregnant and only Archer and Luc are there with Katy. With the world being attacked, they needed to stay inside to be safe. But Katy is never one to listen, and she and Archer go out to find some things to help Beth. Of course, Katy is eventually captured, and wakes up surrounded by Luxens. To her shock, she sees a distant Daemon standing by the Luxen leader, as they plan the destruction of the human race, including the hybrids (which she now is). Dee is also mean and unfriendly to Katy. Has Daemon, Dee and Dawson changed, betraying them? Since I do not want to give spoilers, what follows is an incredibly thrilling action packed story from start to finish. This is a war, and the Luxens, with help from traitors are winning this battle. With nowhere to go, and hope slowly evaporating, they must turn to an enemy for an unlikely truce. I loved when Katy, losing her temper, angrily goes into a tirade; since the beginning of time, there have always been differences, & hate throughout the world. But when there is a common enemy they will join hands; when all is said and done, then they can go back to being enemies. Katy has grown so much in this series, and in Opposition, she turned into a kick-asses heroine. Perfect for our Daemon. I loved that Jennifer gave us a glimpse of Hunter again. Very cool. The Lux series may be considered YA, but make no mistake, this series is a wonderful read for everyone. Jennifer Armentrout not only gives us a believable story of aliens living as humans in our world, but she has given us a fabulous young couple, whom we spent the entire series totally invested in what happens to them. Armentrout also gives us such wonderful secondary that we can worry, cry, or laugh with. Daemon & Katy were one of the best young couples in any YA or NA world, as they were so perfect together, not to mention totally hot. Ohhhh we will miss our Daemon. Again, I must say that when I was anticipating reading Opposition, I was worried. After what happened in another series that I loved by another author, I was scared what will happen here. But thank you thank you, Jennifer, you have made me so happy. Opposition had such an awesome ending that allowed us to be happily content to move on. That’s not to say that I hope one day, when she is not buried with all the books she writes, she can write a novella giving us an update to the lives of Daemon, Katy, and all their friends who survived this epic adventure. Bravo Jennifer! This was a fantastic ride, and Opposition was a classic thriller, with an epic ending.

I absolutely love all of jennifer l armentrouts books. Ive read almost every single one and a few of her adult books. This is my favorite series that ive ever read and i pretty much read as much as i sleep, no joke. This book was amazing. I am obsessed with how she put hunter and serena in it from her adult book from an arum point of view Obsession. The epilogue was AMAZING. I was smiling so much the whole time and in tears at the end because it was just so meaningful and perfect with all the characters and a happy ending. I loved how some of the things she wrote were reminders of the earlier books like the whole note thing at the end of the epilogue bc we never did find outwhat that said and the -I like a challenge- so do i daemon, so do i- thing. And dawson and beths baby is named ashley!!!! I loved that so much. Oh my god. Basically this book and this whole series is absolutely amazing. I LOVE YOU JENNIFER L ARMENTROUT!!

Well, this is it. Katy and Daemon's story has come to and end. I am not sure how I feel about that though. I just stared at my book for a few minutes with my "What do I do with my life now?" look.  This review is hard to write because I don't want to spoil anything (I seem to have a habit of that though) So I am going to make a few comments and end it.  I am not sure what I expect of Opposition. But I am more then happy with everything that happened and how it turned out. I love the duo point of view, maybe just because I like Daemon's wise ass comments, but I like it.  Opposition was an emotional roller coaster, my feels haven't been hit that hard in a while.  Katy and Daemon scenes .... Whoa. Daemon's mind it just .... I think we all know what I am talking about.  Tons of action, it kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting so much more.... So much betrayal. So many unlikely allies.  The epilogue was perfect, I was laughing and crying at the same time.  A very awesome conclusion for a very awesome book series!  I also want to bring up the cover for a minute, I saw that a lot of people dislike this cover. I agree and disagree this cover goes with Beginnings (Books 1 and 2) and Consequences (Books 3 & 4) so I like how they match. But I see the point, on how the cover doesn't match the rest of the individual books. But either way as long as Pepe Thoth is on the cover I am going to be very happy.

4.5 stars I can’t believe it’s over! I thought it ended very well and a happy ending for the most part. This book had a lot of fighting, a lot of steamy moments, a lot of smart-assery, a lot of death (especially one that was close to them), sworn enemies working together, and some close calls. I found the story to be exciting and engaging but I felt there was too much sexy time? Normally I love it to be in there but I felt at times it was unnecessary and took away from the storyline a little. Other than that, I liked what they had to do to win and how they achieved it. The characters are still amazing as always. Daemon swoon worthy and Katy was a total badass. Now I just need to get my hands on Oblivion!

I am not one who reads YA, aliens or romance novels. However the first book was free so I thought, eh, why not. I am so glad I did. I couldn't put this series down and eagerly snatched up all of them. The characters are awesome (loved Daemon, Kat and Archer) wish human men where this hot. The author sucks you into their lives and doesn't let go. The story line was well written, the books fast paced. I wanted her to delve more into some of the other characters that where presented, but with the pace of the books, I can see why that would've been difficult. I have read many long series of books that I just wish would die and get it over with, but was so committed I had to finish them. This is a series that I would've followed forever. So many characters that could continue it. Hats off to this author. I thoroughly enjoyed this series, and will be looking into some of her other books. Sorry I didn't give you guys any inside scoops here, but I hate spoilers! Buy the books, you won't be disappointed. And if you are, well then you have no imagination.

5 - "Together..." "Always." Stars! An outstanding end to one of my favourite series. "All we're missing are the zombies." It had everything! What. A. Ride. Daemon Black ~ "People do say I'm special." Not to mention unforgettable. I am sad it's the end, but the author gave this series and it's characters everything they deserved and then some.
