About the Author

Isa Genzken was born in 1948. She has exhibited her work in Germany and internationally since the 1970s. Her artistic vocabulary acknowledes modernism as both model and loss and is characterized by the use of a variety of often unexpected materials, ranging from kitchen utensils to newspaper headlines and press release flyers. Her work often addresses architectural themes and the experience of contemporary urbanism.

Kai Althoffwas born in 1966 in Cologne, Germany. His vivid, psychologically complex collaged and painted canvases, which often engage with issues of masculine identity and German history, have been shown in solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; the ICA Boston, and Anton Kern Gallery, New York.
