Overview

Options by Rosemarie D'Amico

When Evelyn Morris dies suddenly during an office potluck, her friends and colleagues at TechniGroup Consulting attribute her death to a reaction from her severe peanut allergy.

Kate Monahan, a paralegal/legal secretary at TGC, deals daily with the ups and downs of the corporate world. Evelyn was her best friend, and the unexpected death leaves her shaken. Kate starts digging around for information, and she uncovers decades-old secrets that could kill careers and nosy paralegals.

Portraying the erratic and eccentric behaviour of executives and directors who serve on boards of directors, Options delves into the cut-throat business and financial world. It provides a first-hand, fictional look into how executives can manipulate public share prices to benefit their own bank accounts - a situation in which the sloppy and inept management of shareholders' money leads to murder, suicide, and betrayal.

I read this book in less than three days ... I could NOT put it down! A fantastic read recommended to anyone who loves a really good story. I can hardly wait for Ms. D'Amico's next novel!

I read the second book before Options. I liked artificial intentions better. The business talk was too much for me jn Options. Perhaps necessary to the story line, but a lot of it was boring. Nonetheless i enjoyed the book and look foward to reading more by D'Amico.

Could've been shorter. Felt like it went on too long.

This 380 page novel was free and well edited. It was set in Canada. It was about a murder in a brokerage firm. There is cursing, violence, murder, people getting beaten and kidnapped, some gory, but not extremely detailed death scenes and a dog gets shot. Almost everyone drinks and smokes. There are sexual situations, but they are minus the intimate details. This book does not have much in the way of humor, the heroine is rather unlikable, in fact, only Jay and Leech have likable personalities. There is a lot of intrique, twists and turns and everyone is a suspect. I enjoyed this book, even though it was a rather slow read. The ending while adequate (and at least it had one!) Could have been better. Perhaps a sequal will wrap up the loose threads. For all mystery lovers, ages 18 and up. I think anyone younger would find this book boring. AD

This book is full of everything you could want as a reader. Mystery, a great plot and even better characters make this a truly remarkable mystery novel! I highly recommend it!

60 pages in, and all the explanations of financial business practices and office politics had me bored to tears. i couldn't stand it anymore and quit reading. the main character is obnoxious and the company is filled with unlikable incompetents. i quit reading when i lost track of who everybody was because i just didn't care enough to pay attention. except for a death at the very beginning, supposedly from a food allergy, there is no hint of mystery or anything else remotely interesting. my advice - skip it.
