John R. Walker is a freelance foreign affairs columnist for a number of Canadian newspapers. He has travelled widely in Third World countries, reporting and writing a column on world affairs. Prior to that, he headed Southam bureaus in Washington, London, Ottawa, Tokyo, and Beijing.
