I struggled with a review for this book. I love the first 3/4th of the book. Was a great, what I call, apocalyptic story. Well written, edited nice. My issues with it is at the end. ( I’m being careful not to do spoilers) I am not religious by any mean. Leaving it at that. But the story became a highly religious end. Basically the author put his beliefs in the story. Which is fine with maybe a heads up. I have my beliefs and he has his. I just felt his were stuffed down my throat. And that’s where I lost the love for the story. If you, as readers, have no issue with it, then buy the book and enjoy. Will I still continue reading his work? Yes, a thousand times yes. I’ll just be cautious.

This book was very difficult for me to get through as it elicited too many emotions from me. I had to put the book down many times and just take a break, renew my spirits and continue on. If I hadn’t made a commitment to the author to read and review this book that was given to me, then I would have put the book down and maybe never picked it up again after the first few chapters. I must say that I have to admire Mr. Ohman for having the courage to write and publish this book. It not only deals with abortion but also touches on euthanasia from a Christian point of view. At first I felt sorry for the protagonist, Hattie, and what initially happened to her. She was very humiliated beyond what most of us could endure. I was also very aggravated with her coworker who continued to manipulate her in every conceivable way. Very annoying. Then after everything she was feeling through all this, she seemed to be heading right back into the same pattern as before with her “baby daddy”. Were it not for the help of a potential boyfriend stepping in to her rescue from a very dramatic situation at the end, she might have suffered much more dire consequences. All things considered, this is not a light read. It is, however, very well written from Hattie’s POV. I would recommend it for anyone interested in seeking answers to their own very personal dilemmas before making a decision they might regret later.

This is my honest and unbias opinion of the story. It is a good book to read.

I have just finished this book and I need to tell you that this isn't a light right. It is discouraging, traumatic, tense, and even scary. However, it is also amazing and way too believable. It is set in the future after some sort of event unfolds which is left unknown and the technology is more advanced but in so many ways it is truly what is happening in this country and around the world and it is heartbreaking. The author is bold and brave and I am thankful to him for this book.

Overall rating: 5 I opened this book not really aware of where this storyline would take me, much less how controversial and brave this undertaking was for this author. In my opinion, the subject matter is spot on . This topic is almost taboo for some even in this day and age but I can’t help but wish everyone would pick up this book and read it with an open mind. To many times over too many things, we get caught up on our own opinions and feelings and forget about seeing things from a different point of view. This book is not to be read by the selfish for it is a guarantee you wouldn’t grasp the message in a positive way. All of my reviews are always voluntarily written.
