I really enjoyed this book. Once again Joanna Trollope has captured all the happiness and the troubles of family life. Her incite is remarkable!

I listened to this book on tape, unabridged. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the reader did a great job. It really brought to light the difficulties of meshing two families together even though two people are very much in love and determined to make it work. I must say, I kept wondering if none of them ever heard of family therapy? Because they certainly needed it, particularly the Dale character. It was so sad what happened with Elizabeth and Tom, and with Lucas and Amy, because of Dale and her unexamined and unresolved problems and baggage. I was hoping Tom and Elizabeth would fix it at the end, but that was left sort of questionable. I wanted to throttle Tom for not setting Dale straight, and then when he finally did it wasn't soon enough or thorough enough. But all this frustration was partly what made it a good read.
