This is a short story / novella collection that is better enjoyed if you have read The Otherworld series. The first book is Bitten.      The collection is worth the read, and I'm excited that other volumes will be released in the future. Follows is a brief summary of the tales. 1. Demonology : Adam's mother finally finds out the truth behind her son's "gift". 2. Twilight : Cassandra has begun to feel her age and must decide to fight for life or fade away. 3. Stalked : Clay and Elena finally get away and have their honeymoon, only to have a mutt show up. 4. Chivalrous : This story focuses on Reese and why he left Australia. 5. Lucifer's Daughter : Hope and Karl go to a Museum Exhibit and end up having a devilish time. 6. Hidden : Clay, Elena. and the twins attempt to have a normal Christmas together, and as always, even in Canada, the mutt trouble comes. 7. From Russia with Love : A person from Elena's past comes calling and trouble follows. 8. Vanishing Act : This tale was never previously released and follows after the novel Thirteen.           Savannah and Adam are having one those days, and its not all about their current case.

Chock Full of Insider Info & Backstories I would like to thank Plume & NetGalley for granting me a copy of this e-book to read in exchange for an honest review. Though I received this e-book for free that in no way impacts my review. Goodreads Teaser: "This short story collection will include many brand-new tales and others only previously available on Kelley Armstrong's website. Most of the stories will feature the werewolves of the Otherworld, Elena and Clay, Jeremy, Karl and other members of the American Pack. These are some of Kelley Armstrong's best-loved and most enduring characters, from bestselling books such as 'Bitten', 'Stolen' and 'Frostbitten'. 1) 'Demonology' - Adam's mother discovers what he is 2) 'Stalked' - Clay/Elena honeymoon story from "My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon" 3) 'Hidden' - SubPress 2012 Elena/Clay novella 4) 'Twilight' - a Cass story from "Many Bloody Returns" 5) 'Chivalrous' - Reese's backstory from SubPress's long sold-out "Tales of Dark Fantasy 2" (the Dec'14 SubPress graphic novella picks up this storyline) 6) 'Lucifer's Daughter' - Hope/Karl story from "Blood Lite II: Overbite" 7) 'From Russia with Love' - Elena bonus story included with hardcover of "Thirteen" 8) 'Vanishing Act' - brand-new Savannah/Adam novella set after "Thirteen"" Containing a series of novellas about a variety of Armstrong's more popular characters, this book has something for everyone. Each story adds information to the broader set of knowledge about these supernatural beings, data that helps answer questions, or unspoken history, posed in prior books. Although this book can be read as a stand-alone, it is much, much richer and more satisfying if it is read after the full novels about these characters. In addition, if read as a stand alone, be forewarned that these novellas will contain serious spoilers for the actual novels - something to keep in mind should you be planning on reading them at a later date, or finding that the novellas draw you in and entice you into reading the books that spawned these shorter tales. Several of these novellas weave more than one dominant character together, with the characters and tales overlapping. Since they are so brief, I'll avoid any details about the stories, as the information listed in the Goodreads blurb above lists enough to let the reader know what they'll be diving into. I will say that they are well written, and though they are novellas they still follow the traditional story arc, just on a much shorter curve. The intro gives enough background to give you an appropriate sense of setting and relation to the larger story (even if you haven't yet read it), then there is the meat of the story with the action, suspense, and emotional pull, followed by a resolution of some type. The endings don't have the normal cliffhanger style, as these stories are more looking back than leading forward, which means there is very little chance that the issues addressed will be raised again, at least as the main thread. All said, the book was filled with a variety of stories and different supernaturals. It met all my expectations and then some. When I finished the book I was content, though I won't say that I wasn't wishing for more!

Catching Up with the wolves: OTHERWORLD NIGHTS is an 8 part anthology from author Kelley Armstrong from her popular Tales of the Otherworld series. Seven of the eight storylines have been previously released either as a single, novella or on her website but all focus on the characters we know and love from her Otherworld  Series.  The one new release is a short story –VANISHING ACT-focusing on Savannah and Adam.  Two of these storyline I had not read and I am grateful that Kelley re-released CHIVALROUS –Reese’s backstory-because it is no longer available  in its’ original format. CHIVALROUS follows Reese as a young wolf, a university student who falls in love with the wrong girl. Fast forward a few weeks and Reese will discover that he has been set up by the local wolf pack and his parents are the ultimate target. We will learn why Reese ventured to America and why he is reluctant to reveal the truth about what happened. VANISHING ACT fast forwards Savannah and Adam’s relationship. The now twenty two and thirty two year old lovers will find themselves at odds as it pertains to their future. Adam is ready to settle down but Savannah is showing signs of wanting to me on.  Meanwhile, something new is on the horizon focusing on part of the premise of the final installment in Kelley’s Women of the Otherworld-THIRTEEN.  As the embattled Cabals fight for supremacy in the world of power and magic, a young man will find himself on the run. He is underage in the world of the supernatural but that isn’t stopping the power struggle for Cabal domination. If you are a fan of Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld series, you do not want to miss OTHERWORLD NIGHTS. Some of these storylines are no longer available; some were originally published on line but all are a welcome addition to your Otherworld collection.

If you are reading this you already know what a gifted author and amazing and unique series this is. I will miss all the characters as Ms. Armstrong moves on to other series.

Almost 10 years ago, my sister and I were enjoying the burgeoning Paranormal Romance field. We were constantly on the look out for the next vampire or werewolf story and happily sharing any finds with each other.  One day, she brought home two books by Kelley Armstrong: Bitten and Stolen. We devoured them and I went out and bought Dime Store Magic and Industrial Magic, the next two books in the Women of the Otherworld series.  The witches didn't do it for her like they did for me, but we both agreed that Kelley Armstrong was one of our new favorite authors. Since then, there have been 13 full length novels in the Women of the Otherworld series and dozens of novellas and short stories. Many of the novellas were included in Anthologies over the years, and as a fan, I have read most of them. At one point in time, most of the short stories were available for free on her website.  Unfortunately, they had to be removed when the Collections started being released.  I was stalkery, lucky enough to have read most of them before they were taken down. Reading these Collections with the mix of old and new, short stories and novellas, ignites my love of the Otherworld all over again. Especially when I re-read an story and realize who some of the secondary and minor characters turned out to be in later novels. This collection is no different. If you are a fan of the series, this is a must read.  If you haven't read the series before and want to get a good feel for the Otherworld universe, this is a great way to get your feet wet and try it out.  I enjoyed re-acquainting myself and gave this 3 stars.

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review* ----------------------------------------------------------------- I am a new-comer to Kelley's Otherworld series. I've heard of it - and even have it in my (extremely large) TBR list - but, had not yet managed read any of it. After reading this compilation of short stories it has definitely moved up the list! I do think this would have been a faster read if I'd known the world prior to reading these stories. I want to know more about Elena & Clay, and how she came to forgive him for taking the choice to change out of her hands. I'd like to know what has shaped their twins into the precocious little kids that they are. (I also can't wait to see how they turn into adults, but I don't think that's in the works as yet!) You get to spend Elena & Clay's honeymoon and a very special Christmas with them. You also meet several other members of their Pack, and get the background story on why Reese has the issues he does. You meet Adam as a young boy who doesn't know why he has the powers he has, and then meet up with him again as an adult who is trying to come to terms with his relationship with Savannah, a witch who is trying to figure out what she wants out of life. I also want to know how all of the characters came to know each other as they aren't all of one paranormal subset. (The overwhelming portion of this anthology is devoted to the werewolves, but there are also several short stories about half-demons.) I don't want to give any spoilers so I will leave it at that.

Otherworld Nights: An Anthology is a collection of short stories based in the Otherworld. This is a great collection for fans of the Otherworld Series. With almost all short stories, the telling is quick, somewhat rushed and gives you the feeling of incompletion. You do have to look at it as a teaser. Otherworld Nights: An Anthology does provide a little insight, a little more of the story and makes you want to delve back into the Otherworld.

I could not wait to read the couple of stories that I had not read and the new story about Savannah and Adam.  I know this series has technically ended but I cannot thank Ms. Armstrong enough giving us these novellas of characters, I know I have come to love. In this collection we get a peek at many of our favorite characters.  It would take forever to go through and give a summary and review of each story.  That being said, if you love the Otherworld full length novels, these shorts really help give background into the characters and help us catch up with some of our favorites.   They are at times, intense, mysterious, humorous and loving.  If you are a fan these are a must read! 5Stars

Otherworld Nights by Kelly Armstrong are short stories from her fabulous Woman of the Otherworld series. This series ended with the final book, Thirteen. I was sad to see it end, but Kelly promised us some short stories and novellas. I was happy to read this anthology, with 8 short stories, some I have already read printed or in other anthologies/novellas and a new one. This is usually hard to write reviews, as the description above tells it all. I will just give my brief thoughts on each. Demonology Talia’ is Adam’s mother, and she is trying to understand what is wrong with him, with his fascination with fire. She meets and does all she can to get Professor Vasic to tell her the truth. This was interesting, as I do not remember reading this one. Twilight This story is about Cassandra, one of the main vampires in Woman of the Otherworld. This story tells how she finds it hard to do her annual kill to preserve her life. We do learn in this book how important Aaron was in allowing her to continue life no matter how tired she is. Interesting storyline, but Cassandra was not one of my favorite characters. Stalked Since this one is about Elena and Clay, I will always love any story pertaining to them. They are my favorite characters in Otherworld. This is where though they are not married, they go on a honeymoon. They come across a mutt, have their hunting fun, and solidify their relationship. Hidden I have the special edition of this story, and loved it. Elena and Clay and the twins are on a vacation in Canada during Christmas holidays. Some of the pack will join them soon. They get involved in a murder, which they recognize as a maneater mutt. Great mystery and danger, as they solve who the culprint is. It is in this book that Elena finally agrees with Clay, and the twins find out about their parents. Chivalrous This story tells about Reese, one of the newer pack members. We learn what happened to him, and how he lost his parents. Good storyline. Lucifer's Daughter This is Hope and Karl’s story. It was an interesting story revolving around demon’s causing havoc, and Hope has to use her demonology powers to stop it. Not one of my favorite stories. From Russia With Love Again this is Elena and Clay’s story with the twins, and this one is my favorite along with Hidden. We see the newer pack members as they intermingle with the hierarchy members. This was a fun story, enjoyable and a great ending as Elena takes control. Vanishing Act This new story revolved around Savannah and Adam after Thirteen ended. Some of was interesting, as it was great to see Paige and Lucas. However, the story with Savannah and Adam was somewhat disappointing. Normally, I am not a fan of anthologies, however, I loved this series, especially anything to do with Elena, Clay, Jeremy and the pack. It was fun to read some of the stories again.

Fans of Kelley Armstrong's Women Of The Otherworld series will love the opportunity to have all these short stories in one place.  I know I do.  I really enjoyed the opportunity to revisit some of my favorite characters from the series.  I don’t recommend this for those who haven’t read the series.  But for those who have it is a great way to get either some back story Demonology,  Twilight , Chivalrous or in the case of From Russia with Love & Vanishing Act  follow up.  All in all a lot of fun and a great incentive for me to go back and re-read the series.  It is just that good.
