I broke up with Trip four months ago. But with the exception of my parents, I haven’t told anyone why. Not my friends, not my little sister, not even Asher.
I’ve been missing my best friend every day for the last nine months. Even though Becca broke up with Trip months ago, she’s still been distant, even when we’re in the same room.
She thinks she can break up with me and then go on a “family” vacation with him? I’m going to prove to both of them that she never should have left me.
**Deals with mental/emotional abuse, and attempted rape.**
Early praise for OUR SONG:
"Asher and Becca really care about each other and their feelings are portrayed in such a tender, loving way. Bodette writes with all her heart, and what a kind heart it is. We definitely need more books like this in the world!"

I was fortunate to be given an ARC by Ashley so I had the benefit of reading this wonderful story ahead of publication. All I can say is wow! This a debut novel, I can’t wait to see what flows from the author next! From the very first moment when we meet Becca and Asher there is a protective surge as the reader is pulled in. This is beautifully written without feeling gushy. Becca is a young lady with her whole life ahead of her, she excels at a lot of things, sport, music etc but the actions of Trip threaten to extinguish her internal light and love of life. Asher captured my heart, what a wonderful friend .. he had always been there for Becca but he went over and above expectations .. he was truly what a girl needs in these circumstances. The characters are all well formed and totally believable. A lot of experience or research has gone into this and it touched me on a personal level. I loved it from beginning to end, went through a myriad of emotions during it but came away with a whole sense of justice .. live life to the full and always be the best you can be and most importantly of all be yourself. Many thanks to Ashley for allowing me to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.
