Overview

Our Unscripted Story by L.A. Fiore

Greyson Ratcliffe. I met him at sixteen, the hot new guy sitting on my jetty, an aspiring artist just passing through. He was my first kiss and my first love. I wanted forever with him. I didn't even get a year.

Five years later, I'm a budding writer who scripts stories of love and struggle, the good and the bad and the ups and the downs. He's a star on the rise--his wicked talent and crazy good looks have his face plastered on countless magazines. We move in two different worlds and still our paths cross again. We're older and wiser and as crazy about each other as we had been as teenagers.

My medium is words and my imagination is limitless, but not even I could have written the incredible journey we traveled to reach our happily-ever-after. Life isn't like fiction, and the greatest love stories don't follow a script.

Wow! I was not prepared for the emotional journey L.A. Fiore was going to take me on. It was stunning…she broke my heart and then tenderly put it back together. From the very beginning, Alexis held a special place in my heart. Her spirit was incredible, and her imagination is what helped her survive. Her imagination has no boundaries, and when she sees Greyson Ratcliffe she makes up all sorts of stories in her mind, mostly involving them as a couple. She convinces herself that will never happen, especially because she zones out whenever she is near him. Greyson has moved to the states from Ireland to begin his career as a successful artist, but his grandfather (whom I adore by the way) wants him to finish high school. He knows his time in the small coastal town has an expiration date, so he has no intentions of getting involved with a girl, that is, until he sees Alexis. Something about her just pulls him in, and he can’t resist. There were so many things I loved about this book. The first part reads like a sexy young adult romance. Fiore taps into those emotions of first love, and it made me remember that special time in my life. However, Alexis and Greyson won’t get their HEA until much later, after having their hearts broken, and having to work so hard to get it. Their journey is very much like real life…it is full of joy, sadness, love, hardships, hope, redemption, and second chances. There is so much more that happens within the pages of this book, and as I hinted at before, parts will completely break your heart. Just know that out of the sadness, there is incredible joy. It is a beautifully written book and all the parts fit perfectly together from the title to the quotes that Fiore uses at each new part.

5 TRUE LOVE STARS!! This is an EPIC true love story. The feels in this story are everything from love to hate and everything in between, it will keep you turning page. Do you Believe in love at first sight you need to read Greyson and Alexis's story, it is beautiful. L.A. Fiore has written one of the best true love stories I have ever read. This is the first book I have read by this author and I can't wait to read more by her. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book via NetGalley.

Two souls destined to be together. No truer words were ever uttered about a leading couple. You guys!!! A gush is about to commence in 3...2...1... I’ve been marinating on this outstanding story for a bit now and I still don’t have adequate words to express how much I loved this book. We have this young couple who met at 16 and fell in love. They knew their love would be tested as they were inevitably going to be separated and life would take them in different directions. They are both artists with different mediums and their lyrical souls connect them on the deepest level, and no matter where life took them they would always be true to each other. To see this couple flourish and find their way back to each other was truly an honor or witness. This story was phenomenally written and is the best love story I’ve ever read! It was pure perfection. To see the struggle, the beauty, the sacrifice, the deep value they hold for one another...simply EPIC. Period! Their love is what the greatest romances in history was made of. I adored this book so so much and it’s now forever ingrained in my bones. It’s NOT one to be missed. Go...don’t walk, RUN! 10++++ STARS!

One of the most emotional and amazing books I’ve read of late. Page after page as I read this story I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster zooming towards a climactic ending. The book is wonderfully written with characters will touch your heart and become a part of you. From the moment you meet Alexis and Greyson their story will captivate you. The storyline flows flawlessly from the time Alexis is a youngster living with horrendous foster parents, through her teens where she meets Greyson and onward through adulthood. Their story isn’t perfect, at times it is sad and gut wrenching. The authors wondrous story telling ability had me feeling every emotion these two went through right along with them. I found myself laughing, crying and sighing more times than I could count. The highs had me beaming and the lows broke my heart but I loved every minute of the journey. A journey that I highly recommend reading, you won’t be sorry you did.

See my review in French here A year ago, I discovered one of my favorite authors, with Devil You Know (Lost Boys #1). I loved every single book that came after. Once again, L.A. Fiore delivered a beautiful and heartbreaking love story. My heart swooned, laughed, but also bleed. I loved Alexis, and laughed so hard at her “internal rantings”, and Greyson’s humor, too… I don’t know how the author does it, but this story was, like her previous books, the perfect balance of humor, tenderness, angst, sexiness, and with some hints of mystery. The supporting characters were excellent too, the way they created this wonderful family that isn’t given to us by blood, but by choice. And the way this story was built, through the years, the double POV, it was very interesting, and maybe that was why the pace felt so perfect to me. Alexis and Greyson’s story felt sometimes like a modern and lovely fairy tale, with sweet and romantic moments, but we also had passion, lust, and angst. There was room for some History too, with family legends, castles and lost treasures, so this book was an amazing mix (and a big rollercoaster) of emotions. It was romantic, angsty, tragic, funny, and even magical, I love every bit of their love story, even the saddest and darkest parts. So, if you’re still new to L.A. Fiore, grab this book, you’re about to fall in love with her writing ad her stories. If you’re already a fan, well, you’ll devour this book and live all kinds of emotions. Your heart can brace itself, but it’s worth it. I can’t wait for her next books, Demon You Love (Lost Boys #2), and the next book in the Shipwreck series! ***ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review*** Visit my French blog: https://isalacroqueusedelivres.blog

What an amazing read from L.A. Fiore!! I was hooked from the first page!! L.A. writes the most beautiful words that will break your heart but always puts it back together. Our Unscripted Story is no different. You meet Alexis who has had a crappy childhood aside from her friends. Greyson is the sexy as sin aspiring artist who Alexis stumbles upon. The banter between them is easy going. You can feel the love and passion coming from them. Not everything is easy for them, but when it comes full circle, it’s absolutely beautiful!! I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars!!

"A life without love isn't a life worth protecting." L.A. Fiore never fails to put my emotions through a wringer. She is also guilty of weaving stories within stories so that she takes me on a journey I'm not expecting, even when I've read enough of her work that I should be expecting it. I love her surprises. ❤️ When they first met, she was 16 yrs. old and Greyson was 18 yrs. old. She found him sitting on her jetty. It was her place, where she went to be alone and write her stories. She'd never seen anyone else there before, and she might have been upset at the invasion if she hadn't been struck dumb by his presence. The attraction she felt for the stranger was immediate and confusing. She didn't even know his name but she'd already written a love story in her head before she actually met him. Greyson was just passing through on his way to pursue his career as an artist. His grandfather insisted he finish high school before he left, so he was just biding his time. He didn't think anything would make him want to delay his dream, but leaving her was the hardest thing he'd ever done... but he did it. It was so sweet watching the teenagers fall for each other. The notes in lockers, walking to class, and the first kiss. The first visit to the #EraserRoom. She wasn't the only one envisioning their forever, I was guilty of the same thing. Just like her, I knew he wasn't staying, but I fell for him anyway. And right along with her, I was devastated when he left. I also fell in love with many of the support characters. Especially the twins. L.A. Fiore, if you are reading this, pretty please give them their own book. I neeeedddd to see them fall in love. You could even do it with just one book and make it a menage, I'm okay with that. Please? Let me tell you, I practically held my breath the whole time she and Grayson were separated. Biting my nails and my lip, sooooo anxious for them to find each other again. But of course, the author doesn't make it easy for her readers. No, we must yearn and worry and wait and just when we think everything is fine, it's not. I'm considering investing in a defibrillator to have on hand before I start reading her next book, just in case my heart stops again. But no worries, you couldn't stop me from devouring whatever she decides to tackle next. The line forms here...
