As a case in point, he is manipulated by an unscrupulous preacher to rebel against his lovely family and community - the act which turns him into a restless traveler through Africa to Europe. In this wandering life, he tries to settle down in several places but a flaw in his character always leads to his being rejected and pushed forward. When he reaches the point of envying the food of the pigs, he comes to his senses and chooses to return home and apologize to his kinsfolk. And whereas, he had expected a relief at his home environment, fate renders an unforeseen consequence instead. His kindred consider him stranger than the foreigners in the land of his ramblings.
