If you're looking for a jam packed quick read, then this is for you. This novella is full of lush descriptions and enough Aztec history to make you turn the page for more. Carolina tries to be just an ordinary woman, but there is nothing ordinary about her and as a reader you know that from the first words. Add in Tomas, an ancient Aztec Shadow Warrior, and you can feel the soul searing sparks between these two characters burn up the pages as they work together to conquer their unknowns.

Review by Ivelisse: Tomas is an Aztec shadow warrior, he was turned into his wolf spirit centuries ago to fight off demons for his Aztec sun god. After so many years fighting and killing demons his is slowly but surely losing his humanity, until he finds his spirit mate Carolina who has sworn to protect and keep the secrets of her water goddess. This story had me hooked, lined and sinkered from the beginning. The authors really did a wonderful job describing Tomas and Carolina's inner turmoil to defend their gods or give in to their temptations. The cover is also to die for, Scott Carpenter really did an amazing job and captured the story perfectly. There was not much romance, the small part there was I felt worked very well into the story. I was fascinated with the storyline as a whole. The Aztec references were amazing and different from anything I have read lately and were explained so well I did not have a hard time understanding the world the authors created. Intrigue with paranormal aspect, fight scenes which had my heart pounding, secrets and hero's and heroine's that made me beg for more. I cannot wait to see what happens next!
