Professor Simon Cross has spent his life searching for evidence of vampires and avoiding emotional entanglements. When a mysterious accident transports Simon and his new assistant, Elizabeth West, back in time, Simon finally finds both the proof that he's been looking for, and the romance that he hasn't.

In 1920s Manhattan, there are more than mobsters vying for power in the city's speakeasies. Will Simon and Elizabeth's developing relationship survive the vampires' teeth? Will they survive to make it back? Or will they be forever out of time?

I won't waste your time by telling the whole story, as some do; I will tell youthat if you enjoy a well-written story with fully-fleshed, interesting characters with a twist of paradox neatly avoided, you'll enjoy this book tremendously. Further, you'll immediately buy the rest in the series, as I just did. Now go read already!

The description of Out of Time caught my attention, and so I downloaded the sample to my ereader. I knew within the first couple of "pages" that I'd have to read the entire book. The characters are likable and realistic, yet still "larger than life." The plot is captivating and unpredictable. But there's more to this book than romance; it has mystery and danger and vampires. And it has romance! I don't normally gush about books. Out of Time is gush-worthy! It's extraordinarily well-written in every way. I love this book and highly recommend it!

While this wasn't quite what I expected, I was pleased with what I got...a well-written, and engrossing, story. No discernable plot-line holes, and no pseudo-cliffhanger ending that leaves you with unanswered questions. A full length book for free - an excellent deal.

Holy Heck!!... this book is one of the best books I've ever read.. I can't even believe it's free.!! I'm sooo going right now to buy the second and third.. A true 699 page book!! The plot was amazing ! The story didn't leave any holes or gaps in the plot the ending was complete and didn't leave you hanging. The character's were very well thought out. I'd have to completely disagree with the previous comment out no liking the " Girl "character. The book had romance but not to much where it takes away from the story line, I love a good romantic story but that has an actual story to it, not just sex all over the place they didn't even get together until page 350. I dont normally leave feedback but this was an amazing story and I finished it in a day and a half. totaly worth buying the next books!

This is a time travel romance, with several interesting twists and turns. Good plot, good premise, and very well-written. Anyone interested in the New York 1920s would enjoy the gritty, up close look at life back then. I would recommend this book for women more than for men, although some men might also enjoy it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wished the story could have continued. It was well worth reading, and it kept this very picky reader quite entertained. I'll look for more from this author - I believe the series continues.

This book was so good over 660 pages. I enjoy the characters especially Elizabeth and Simon. This is the first in the series of four books.

This book started well! Then once the time travel happened it began to unravel. Not a good history description at all. The hero if you can call him that was whiny and worried all the darn time. It was boring after awhile. For all his supposed knowledge of the occult he really just was annoying. Perhaps the second book is better. Debating whether it is worth trying.

I really liked this book. It was definitely not what I expected and was better for it. I liked the characters and the way they fought through obstacles ranging from mundane to extraordinary. I am a sucker for a good love story and this one was great :)

This is a well wriiten Time Travel Mystery. It kept me on edge from start to finish. How tempting would it be to hold the secret of time in your hand? Looking forward to read book 2. When the Walls Fell. Thank you Ms. Martin for your talent. Ada

A Time Travel Novel with a Paranormal Twist I can’t believe I waited so long to read Out of Time by Monique Martin. I originally purchased this book in December of 2014. So it has been languishing in my eBook library just waiting for me to read it. Taking place in NYC just before the stock market crash, Out of Time combines the mysteries of time travel with the hidden world of mobsters and speakeasies with a paranormal twist. Yes, you read that right. If you like time travel with a spice of paranormal, you should probably be reading this one. See the full review at SecondRunReviews.com. This is a unique review involving several quotes from the book.

What an excellent series! I was hooked right from the first book. For the most part, I usually don't continue to purchase books in a series. However, this one is so good that when I'm done with a book I immediately purchase the next one. I'm on book #4 in the series and it's just as good as the first one. Each book in this series deals with either a supernatural being, an historical event, missing people, etc. What a great author!

I have to say I love this series. The two leads, the plots all of it.

Out of Time was entertaining enough to pass a few hours. There is nothing in it that makes me want to run out and buy the next book though.
