A darkly funny graphic novel, Outlaw Efforts is a maiden tour for a bunch of wacky wannabe rock stars with issues. Little does the band know their temporary tour manager/driver, Maxi, is on the run. Maxi herself is only aware of one hazardous set of pursuers; but, what she doesn't know is how many government agencies are dog-piling on the chase. As the story unfolds, the band limps along the west coast - fighting incessantly - as bad pay, bad conditions, and bad tempers flare in their overloaded, creaky van. And, while city, state, and federal forces close in, Maxi finds out that one of her problems is closer than she thinks.

About the Author

Natalie Jacobson has two great loves: music and writing. Jacobson spent a lot of time in the music scene beginning in 1982 when she started promoting club nights around NYC. She was fortunate enough to be a 5-year alum of the famous Ritz nightclub and saw the best bands (and their drama) every night. After graduating from NYU with a BA in print and written communications, Jacobson worked in the music business before heading out West to check out the music scene there. In Seattle she was lured into the spoken word scene. She had several articles and interviews published by The Stranger and represented Seattle in the National Poetry Slam in Ashville, NC. Her poetry has appeared in several anthologies and she performed regularly with notables such as Patti Smith, Jim Carroll, Jello Biafra, Excene Cervenka, Lydia Lunch, and Hubert Selby among others.

Her first novel No Forwarding Address was released by 2.13.61. Outlaw Efforts is her first graphic novel.

Maltese's live musical appearances in New York included The China Club, Irving Plaza, Continental, The Pyramid Club, Columbia University and (back in the Pleistocene Epoch), the notorious Limelight and the infamous CBGB's. Maltese has recorded for several indie labels over the years and his latest album is "Night Of The Muse" on Diamond Sutra Records. Outlaw Efforts is his first graphic novel.
