This is a great book for all elementary school students. It has the lyrics to the classic song. It Illustrates these lyrics as well. I have seen this used in a second grade classroom during Thanksgiving time and all of the students loved singing along while looking at the illustrations on each page. This is a great resource to incorporate music with literacy.

The classic Thanksgiving poem that is well known throughout the country. It would be good to use around the holidays and make into a fun project.

Any books that can be sung are enormous hits around here. Over the River and Through the Wood is an old traditional Thanksgiving song that, sadly, doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to people today. So, having a book with cute illustrations helps with that.Unfortunately, there is not a staff key in the back. I had to look up elsewhere the notes for the song because I couldn't remember exactly how it went.

This is the traditional Thanksgiving poem with illustrations by Nadine Westcott. I'm definitely not a fan of this illustrator - the figures are flat, static, and fairly emotionless. The colors feel too pastel-ly for a Thanksgiving story - more rich golds and browns, less pinks and reds I think. The poem is lovely, of course, it's just the illustrations of this particular edition that were unappealing to me.

The classic Thanksgiving tune. The art in this edition is less than it could be. Look for an edition with better illustrations.

I ordered book it came with cover on wrong so that when you opened the book the print was upside down. I returned it to a local B&N store they ordered a 2nd book and it was the same way. I was told the same thing would probably happen if ordered another one. I was ordering the book for my grandchild and was disappointed.
