3.5 Stars Dawn and Hawk were the ultimate protagonists throughout the series and now that we’ve finally made it to their book, I really didn’t “get” their relationship. Dawn has been waiting her whole life for Hawk and he has been emotionally and physically unavailable. Hawk wants her but he can’t have her because of some super-secret mission he can’t tell anyone about or he’d risk their safety. But Hawk doesn’t want anyone else to have Dawn either. We finally get to see Dawn shine here. She is tired of waiting for Hawk and lets him know it. Their relationship was frustrating and while their sexual chemistry was explosive, their interactions were mostly power struggles and the I-want-you-but-I’m-not-good-for-yous. My favorite parts of the book were the older ladies of the community. They decided that Dawn and Hawk needed to be together so they devised several schemes in order to solidify a relationship. Their shenanigans were the bright spots in the story. Rebecca Zanetti is one of my very favorite authors and the Maverick, Montana series has always had a special place in my heart and my bookshelf. I think what happened here was my own fault. My expectations were too high and when the story didn’t develop the way I wanted it to, I was disappointed. Despite my pickiness, I would totally recommend OVER THE TOP and the rest of the Maverick, Montana books to any reader who loves a good romance…and sexy cowboys, of course. ***I was gifted an eBook copy from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. My Thoughts: Most of the books in the Entangled Brazen line suck me into the world almost immediately. That unfortunately wasn't the case with Over the Top. There was something that just wasn't clicking for me, making me connect to the characters. It became difficult to continue reading because I kept having issue with what was happening. Usually books in this line don't have a bunch going on outside the main characters, but with this one it was all over the place with other characters and things not having anything to do with the romance developing between Hawk and Dawn (which had some steam for sure). I guess the bottom line is that I was needing more with our two lovebirds and the story was too invested in everything and everyone else at once to provide it. I am, however, in the minority when it comes to how people felt on this book. If you're looking for a story with a lot going on outside the protagonist and her love interest, this may be just the kind of book you'll enjoy. My Rating: It's Okay

i was so excited to read this book. ive been waiting forever for Dawn and Hawk to get together. Dawn has been in love with Hawk for as long as she can remember and Hawk has felt the same way but with 3 older brothers one of which is his best friend it makes it hard to make a move. finally Hawk gives in and its off to the races with them. Then trouble comes knocking and Hawk finds out that the one he loves is in the cross-hairs. Dawn is determined to stay with him and with family such as hers everyone is involved. Her family thinks of Hawk as one of their own so no matter how hard he tries to keep them out of they are determined to help. Throw in the Lady Elks who are bound and determined to keep Hawk and Dawn together no matter what/. The old biddies are hilarious. This was my favorite of the series and a great end to it.

Dawn Freeze has crushed on Hawk Rain forever. Now he's home for a little while and he can't keep away from her. The Lady Elks are determined to help her. Can Dawn get her man? Dawn and Hawk are two strong willed people who go after what they want. Sparks fly when they are together. They make a powerful couple, but he won't commit until he fulfills his promise. He will bring a former friend to justice. The setting added great atmosphere to the story. The vast Montana landscape was beautiful and deadly. The people here are loving and protective as well as nosey especially Mrs. Poppins and Mrs. Hudson. The advise from The Lady Elks Secret Archives was spot on and laugh out loud funny. Rebecca Zanetti had me on the edge of my seat. The characters were larger than life, the drama intense and ending satisfied my desire for a HEA. I enjoyed Over The Top.

I enjoyed this story. I have not read the others in this series, but did not feel like I was missing any key elements by reading this one first. This is a quick, fun read with a good mix of humor, suspense, and sizzle. I loved all of the characters and relationship dynamics. A great cast of secondary characters - the old ladies are a hoot! Will definitely be shopping for the brothers' stories.

In OVER THE TOP, Rebecca Zanetti returns us to the small town of Mineral Springs in Maverick County, Montana, where everyone knows everyone else's business. Dawn Freeze, newly returned home with a Master's Degree and multiple degrees in business, has signed on with the family business. Hawk Rain is home between missions. He works for a private security firm that essentially performs black ops. Dawn has had a crush on Hawk for...well...forever. Everyone knows it, including Hawk. He's home for only one week, and they end up up in bed since this might be the only time they have. But they agree to keeping it secret because if Dawn's big brothers find out--including Hawk's best friend--there will be heck to pay. But Hawk finds out that his last mission has gone wrong, and Dawn might be in danger. They might have to come clean to keep Dawn safe. Whether she wants protection or not. Hawk is a great hero--sexy, protective, and alpha. Dawn is a feisty, stubborn heroine who more often than not saves the day. Oh, and did I mention that Hawk is sexy? This book is a scorcher, thanks to Hawk. The plot includes ups and downs between Hawk and Dawn, suspense, and humor from the Lady Elks. OVER THE TOP is part of the Maverick Montana series. It can be read a a standalone book, but you'll enjoy it more if you read the other book first. You'll enjoy catching up with Jake, Quinn, and Colton. Happy reading!

Hurry with more. This series is great. Never a dull moment or cool department with this gang. Hit sex, I mean yum, and hot men. I love all the stories especially when family and friends interrupt all the time. Funny and especially hilarious with the elderly women too. Bottom line e loved this one and can't wait for more. Maybe Reeses???

I love Rebecca Zanetti and her books and I can honestly say that Over the Top was another great read. I was intrigued from the first few pages and I couldn't put it down till I read the last word. The story was intriguing and fast paced, filled with danger, suspense, excitement, romance, tenderness and so much hotness that it will just leave you breathless. The characters are well developed, have deepness and the chemistry between them it is simply off the charts :) I have to say that Hawk is one of my favorite bad boys. He is the ultimate tall, dark and dangerous hottie :) With his intense and mesmerizing gaze he can melt your panties and if you are somehow resistant to that, his dirty mouth will simply finish you off. And when you add to that that his heart has belonged to one woman for the past few years but he has resisted his attraction in order to save her from heartache, then you can simply just give your heart to him on a silver platter :) He is also ready to protect his woman at any cost. He is loyal to his friends and family and the people he loves always come first. Dawn is Hawk's perfect other half. She is strong and independent, loyal and loving. Well, she still has to prove to her older brothers that she is all grown up, but she definitely knows how to go about it ;) I loved that she's been in love with Hawk since she was a little girl. Somehow it feels like a meant to be together story and I love those :) The only thing I can say about the book is: I LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!!! It is simply a great combination of suspense, romance and humor. I definitely recommend it and if you haven't read anything by Rebecca Zanetti so far, this is a perfect place to start. As I haven't read the rest of the books in the series, I am diving into them the first chance I get :) The big plus is that the books can be read independently, so it is not a problem if you don't start from the beginning ;) This review was originally posted at Living In Our Own Story Book Blog. I received an ARC of the book in exchange of an honest review.

Sexy and funny with a side of danger! Dawn and Hawk have some pretty intense chemistry and after years of denying their attraction, they don't hold back. One of my favorite things in this book is the humor that Mrs. Poppins and Mrs. Hudson bring with their matchmaking efforts. If you like brother's best friend / best friend's sister romances, you'll enjoy this one. I received an ARC via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

3 Huckleberry flavoured stars It's a known fact in Maverick County that the little sister, Dawn Freeze, has held a candle for Hawk Rain for most of her life. Being her big brothers best friend growing up, he became part of the furniture, as well as the family. Hawk has blended in and out of the town's backdrop, as his military and then covert work allowed him. He returns on a particular day to Dawn singing with a band in the local centre, and is dumbfounded not only by her stellar voice, but by how mature, and attractive, and alluring, and all grown up she is. He can't have her, he doesn't deserve her, how could he possibly contemplate any level of normality? All the thoughts that have previously kept him away, are now disregarded for one intense night with the girl he's always seen as "the one". We've been party to many rumblings about Hawk and Dawn from the previous Maverick Mountain stories, and I tumbled into theirs with a warm smile. I found most parts of this story entertaining; the resident meddlers "The Lady Elks", who saw it as their duty to play fairy matchmakers. The other brothers and their respective wives made appearances, especially Colton and Melanie. These elements all helped to inject familiarity with the series, along with the humour. But i felt a little deflated by the lack of connection I had to Hawk and Dawn. I don't know whether it was due to the character development, because the intensity certainly oozed between them. 3.5+ "let's break rule #2" Stars. How to Catch a Man 1. Make your man the only man around. 2. Don’t give the cow away (AKA NO SEX). 3. The way to his heart really is through his stomach. 4. Let your man rescue you. 5. Give him the illusion of control so you can chase him until he catches you. How did I miss 2 books in this series? I’m not sure, but I can tell you that I’m rectifying that as soon as I finish typing this. Over the Top is a hot read. Hawk is scorching: a growly, bossy, alpha male of the best kind. He is on a self appointed mission, and he can’t start anything with Dawn, the girl he’s loved most of his life (little sister to his best friends/family) until he is ready to be 100% in. Dawn has loved Hawk since she could remember and had been waiting for him to make a move for what it feels like a lifetime. Everyone in Maverick knows about it too. They aren’t getting together soon enough for the likes of the “ladies” (aka the old busybodies that run the town gossip central). Hawk and Dawn won’t only have to fight their desires, their issues and all of Hawk’s stubbornness, but the well meaning interference of The Lady Elks secret society. The following is their instructions on how to catch a man. Let’s just say that after braking all the rules (#2 repeatedly) it seems things aren’t going Dawn’s way. Will Hawk get over himself and realize there’s no better time than right now? Will Dawn be able to convince him that even if she is young, she knows what she wants? Add to that, cool action, a bit of suspense, annoying siblings and a super abundance of hot guys and testosterone. Their chemistry is way hot and their boudoir shenanigans…. I took copious notes, enough said. I really enjoyed Rebecca Zanetti’s hot romantic suspense. *I received a complimentary copy from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review*

Even though Rebecca Zanetti’s “Over the Top” is the 4th Book of a series it was a comfortable Standalone read. The writing was flawless, fluent and the story idea was good. I did not read the first 3 books, but I am pretty sure that there was some serious build up before Hawk and Dawn finally got their story in this 4th book. There were enough references to their previous encounters. So I suspect that anyone following this series will expect to find something mayor within the pages of this book. But unfortunately the story could have given the reader so much more. I could not feel this “heat” that was supposed to be there between Hawk and Dawn – there were hints and references written allover in the book but it was like hearsay and the feeling was not transported to me as a reader. So in total it was an OK read as a standalone but I guess - I would not be surprised to hear if followers of the series are disappointed with the development of the book as a part of that series.

3.5 stars Over the Top was a sweet, fun and entertaining read. I enjoyed seeing Dawn and Hawk finally get together, they had amazing chemistry and there was never any doubt these two were meant for each other. The Maverick Montana series has been a great read and highly recommend it. Each book can be read as a standalone.

Action Packed with Romance and Suspense. One of the Best of the Series! This was such a great story. I have been eagerly awaiting Dawn and Hawk’s story for a while now and it did not disappoint. Dawn Freeze is an independent woman, who is the little sister of the Freeze brothers. She is in love with Hawk Rain and has been for years. Hawk Rain is the Freeze brothers’ friend and he has been attracted to Dawn for years but because of his friendship with her brothers he doesn’t act on that attraction. The whole town knows how she feels about Hawk . Then one night as Hawk is back in town visiting and making up his mind if he is going to return home or go back to his other life fighting crime, then they have this hot as all get night together-which was brought after a little car accident and some sweet old ladies. (You have to read it to understand but it was sweet). Hawk and Dawn have this instant chemistry and the attraction is so intense, you can tell the feelings are immediately there. They finally give in and WOW! It was magic! I was blow away and felt so good for them both but something happened and Hawk receives a call he never expected. A criminal that he put away years ago has gotten out and is making a beeline toward Hawk and that puts Dawn in danger. So he has to leave to protect Dawn and keep everyone he loves safe. This hurts Dawn completely and leaves her feeling like he never really cared. You can read and see that she feels if he stayed, if they stood together, they could take care of these themselves. We get to see Alpha Hawk and Fiery Dawn-Fireworks People, Fireworks!!! From here on out, there are twists and turns in this story. There is another guy who is interested in Dawn and he is interested in coming forward if Hawk is not going to stick around. Also there is danger where you least expect it coming for them. The ending is wonderful and we get to visit with the characters from the other books and see how they are doing. Overall this is a fantastic story. I loved how it played out. The only thing I would have loved would have been an epilogue that showed how the MC are doing several months to a year in the future. Other than that, this was a totally rockin story, I would completely recommend this book and the others to any and all I could and I cannot wait to read more from this author. ***A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review**** My rating: 4.8 stars *****

Over the Top is forbidden romance with a strong suspenseful underlying plot. Hawk has been fighting his attraction to his best friends sister for what feels to him like forever. Dawn was spurned once by Hawk, but she's never stopped wanting him. Now Hawk is back in town, the old folk are meddling, and danger is lurking. There is a lot of push, pull, and intense emotion sparking between Dawn and Hawk. It was easy to feel like I was right there with them, watching the sparks fly! I liked how they came together, but at times it felt like neither of them was really ready for the other because of the push and pull between them. I was happy when Hawk decided to just go for it with Dawn, despite his misgivings. The fact that they have a background together made the speed of the relationship when they did move on it believable. Hawk kept part of himself tucked away for a while, but eventually talks to Dawn about himself, what he does, and what he fears. I liked that about him. He is very protective not only of Dawn, but of everyone he considers his family. I felt that Dawn was not really understanding of the scope of the situation with Hawk and at times this made me feel frustrated with her. As grown up as she is, she is still quite young. Sometimes heroines just need to accept that they are not superwoman. The suspenseful part of the plot was intriguing and Rebecca did a good job of keeping me wondering what would happen for much of the book. I loved the secondary characters, especially Dawn's family and the older match making ladies in town! The family felt real, and I liked how they were with each other. The ladies provided high entertainment! I'd recommend Over the Top to romance readers who like suspense woven in to a strong, tension filled romance!

3.5 stars Good friends, long time crushes, meddling old ladies, and bad guys make for an exciting book! Hawk Rain is home in between jobs when he semi-reluctantly gives in to the desire that has been perking between him and Dawn Freeze for years. What follows is full of fun, sexy times, sweet moments, and adventure. I liked both Hawk and Dawn. He is a strong, alpha type character that has a soft spot for Dawn and cares what his friends think. She a young woman focused on her family and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. They are great together and you can’t help but root for them. There is a strong supporting cast mainly consisting of Dawn’s family and a couple of senior citizens. We don’t get to know any of the supporting cast too well, but they add just the right flavor to the book. This is the 4th book in the Maverick, Montana series, but I was able to step right in without feeling like I missed out on anything. Review Copy provided by Net Galley
