Overcoming Suicidal Thoughts for Teens: CBT Activities to Reduce Pain, Increase Hope, and Build Meaningful Connections
If you are a teenager who is tormented by thoughts of suicide, know that you are not alone and can count on help. This is the main idea that the authors of "Overcoming suicidal thoughts in adolescents" want to convey at the very beginning of the book. Painful feelings and the desire to die are not permanent, they are not forever. They can be overcome — and our book is intended to help you along this path. Thoughts of suicide visit many people at different ages. Thinking about death is not a sign of weakness or cowardice. Usually suicidal thoughts mean only that a person is hurt or hard. But there is always a way out, even if in the most difficult moments it seems that this is not the case. This book is based on evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and it contains many effective exercises: you will learn how to create a safety plan in a situation that seems hopeless, how to surround yourself with support, how to find meaning and purpose in life. You will not be bored reading, because the tasks are designed specifically for teenagers: they are entertaining and interesting. You are a great fellow for taking up this book! This is a bold and decisive step worthy of respect.
