Overview

Can true love prevail against prejudice and deceit?
After a bitter betrayal, Dawson Blackhorse won't allow anyone to run roughshod over his heart again...especially not the woman he was once foolish enough to trust.
The rodeo circuit gave Dawson an escape after his racist boss ran him off. Hank Bartell made it clear no man who was part-Navajo, would buy his ranch or court his daughter. In a single moment, the man destroyed every one of Dawson's dreams.
But when the rodeo brings him to the tiny mountain town of Sawyer, Idaho, he comes face to face with everything he lost.

For nine years, Chloe Bartell hasn't been able to forget the man who abandoned her. Especially not when she looks into the eyes of their son.
The quiet life Chloe leads in the small town of Sawyer is shattered the day Dawson comes to compete in the rodeo. He's everything she remembers and more. Gorgeous. Muscular. Six foot and change of sexy cowboy. She watches helplessly as he comes face to face with the son he never knew he had. Dawson demands answers but Chloe is determined to keep her distance. When sparks fly, the fire they ignite threatens to burn down the walls she's built around her broken heart.

Will the pain and loss of their past drive them apart for good? Or can they forgive each other and build a new life, a life they always dreamed of...

Overdue for Love is the sixth novella in the Long Valley world, although all books in the Long Valley world can be read as standalones. It has some strong language, and oh my, sexy times. Enjoy!

This is a very interesting and captivating second chance romance involving a couple from opposite sides of the tracks (One crazy parent that believes he and no one else knows best). The setting is so amazing love Long Valley and the cheaters are so entertaining and realistic. Dawson Blackhorse is a strong, proud and hardworking alpha male with a chip on his shoulder and uneasy feelings about letting anyone near his heart again. Chloe Bartell is a single mom raising a son she never intended to tell his father about (due to her father interfering). She is a strong, sweet and just a little sassy with an adorable son with a straightforward nature. A love to overcome years of misunderstandings and broken trust, emotionally turning and highly entertaining read.

Dawson Blackhorse works at the Bartell Ranch and has been working, and paying to one day own the Ranch. He needs to stay away from Chloe Bartell. She's a temptation that he must resist! When Dawson finds out that Hank Dawson pulls the rug out from under Dawson feet, that he's backing out of the deal. Hank not only returned Dawson's money plus interest, he informed Dawson about Chloe's upcoming wedding to another man. He took his anger out on Chloe and left. Fast forward 9-years later Dawson runs into Chloe in a diner that she works at. My feelings went from anger, to disappointment, to anticipation and happiness with how Dawson and Chloe reconnected. A great quick read about hardworking individuals who discover love where they never expected to find it. I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I received a free book and voluntarily chose to review it. My strong woman wasn’t very strong at the beginning of the story. Circumstances caused the 20 year old to grow up in a hurry. This is a lovely romance with problems along the way to keep the couple not so happy. A few tissues will be needed.

Working on someone else ranch when you have fallen for the boss’s daughter isn’t good. When the boss is racist and you are part Navajo it is even worse when the boss thinks you aren’t good enough for her. Thinking Chloe was playing him for a fool he left with his heart broken. She is one he will never forget and holds much bitterness. Chloe herself has issues the only man she has loved left with a painful good bye. The one night of passion left more than unkind words behind. Now face to face again spark fly in more ways than one when a child in thrown in the mix. I really felt sorry for Chloe her father is something else. She has not had an easy life since Dawson left. I didn’t care for her father at all he was so unkind in so many ways. Chloe really got the bad end but with Dawson back in the picture can things work out for them. They both know they love each other but the other isn’t sure of those feelings. Dawson’s eyes are about to get open in a big way. I loved the plot and the characters as well as the twists and turns. The author had no trouble hooking me and keeping me turning the pages. I understood where both the characters were coming from. This was a no win for anyone and your heart goes out to both of them for all they had to deal with. I thought this was well written that really pulled the reader in giving you a very entertaining read. I can’t wait for the next one in this series.

A Second Chance at Love and Secret Baby Romance I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I adore Erin Wright's books, with good reason. She is an exceptional writer. Her books are filled with romance and passion, steamy love scenes, wonderful characters and great storylines. Overdue For Love is about Dawson and Chloe, he has worked for Chloe's father, on his horse ranch for years, with the promise that one day it would be his ranch. Chloe has been crushing on Dawson for the last 2 years, flirting with him nonstop, but Dawson, knowing it would cost him everything he's working for, has done his best to keep his distance from her. Then Chloe's father reveals to Dawson that he does not plan to sell him the ranch, that Chloe is going to marry their neighbor and the ranch will be theirs. Dawson is devastated by this news and getting back at Chloe and her father, seduces her, verbally rips into her then leaves. 9 years later, Dawson walks into a diner and there is Chloe, working as a waitress! As if that isn't shocking enough, she has a son, Tommy, a dead ringer, mini me of Dawson! Dawson can't believe he has a son and Chloe wants nothing to do with him. She just wants him to go away and leave her and Tommy alone. A lot of hurt has happened between these 2 in the past, can they get over it and have a friendly relationship for Tommy's sake? Could they ever be more than just Tommy's parents? There's only one way to find out...Read the book!

I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this book. After a huge disappointment, Dawson did something wrong nine years ago and he is not happy with it. Chloe is working as a waitress in a diner. When Dawson sees her working there, he couldn’t believe his eyes. Why is Chloe working in a diner if she is the heiress of a rich rancher? What has happened in the nine years since that fatidical day? This is an enjoyable book. Although I don’t like what Dawson did, I can understand why he did it, mostly because he didn’t have all the information he had later on. All in all, he is a good guy, honest and caring. His relationship with Chloe is a bit cold, there is not magic between them. I liked the interactions between Dawson y Tommy. And I loved Tommy’s straightforwardness. However, I would have liked to have more info about Dawson’s life as a child and young man.

I really enjoyed reading this contemporary western romance novel. Many people purchase a book by storyline for that reason I don’t do storyline spoilers. I feel it is unfair to the author to describe the book when writing is their livelihood. This novel is a winner! It had all the elements I look for in a well written romance novel: a well thought out and executed storyline, writing that flowed smoothly from beginning to end, characters that were well developed and engaging (adored Tommy!) I was so totally engrossed in Chloe and Dawson’s story and absolutely loved Erin’s beautiful written epilogue. While there were emotional issues that Chloe and Dawson needed to address as well as sexual tension between them, their story was also heartwarming and made me smile. If you want to read an exceptionally good love story this is the novel for you. I highly recommend “Overdue For Love” and I know you will enjoy reading it as much as I did. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my review. It was a pleasure to give my honest opinion about the book.
