Driving through Texas in an unreliable car, Katie is soon stranded when her car overheats with nowhere in sight. The rest stop was a good few miles back and with no phone she hopes someone will stop by to give her a hand. She couldn't help but think of that sexy cowboy she saw back at the rest stop, who just happened to be passing by on the same road she is. He--Joe--offers her a ride back to the rest stop, and Katie obliges.  Grateful for the lift, Katie forms a plan to give him a "special" thank you for his southern hospitality once they reach the rest stop. Accepting the offer, the two go to the restroom for a little something hot and steamy. After they exit the restroom and settle in a diner, a surprise awaits for the reader. I'll say no more or else it'll spoil the story for you. :-) OVERHEATED is a great read, among the first I've read of Evers' work and enough to hook me for the rest. I definitely recommend it!

Hero: 5/10 Heroine: 5/10 Sizzle: 10/10 Romance: 5/10 Humor: 4/10 Secondary Characters: 0/10 (are none) End: 1/10 Pace: 10/10 This started out as an awesome short story. It was silly, cute, sexy, and well written. Obviously being a short story, there's not much character development. But from what I read, I liked the H/h enough. My favorite part of the whole thing is being pulled in quickly and the fast pace. Win! And the little bits of humor was a nice touch as well. Something that I always appreciate. That said, the little surprise twist at the end is one of my pet peeves in short stories and I definitely hated it here. Please stop! It ruined the whole story for me. Talk about a wallbanger. For that reason alone, I can't recommend this book. And that's also my reasoning behind the lower grade for a book that I enjoyed 99% of. I won't be reading this author again because of that twist also. A shame because this was well written...

I like a good read that gets to the point. Its always nice to have details before hand. But its even sweeter and sexier to get right down to the grind of things. This takes you where you need to be sooner than a longer book. Short story, yes...Less desirable, NO!!! It was great and the ending was so rich with love and sex! The two key components in a strong relationship!

I was really surprised by this book. I wasn't expecting an exotic book when I bought it. But I loved it in the end great twist. I just wish it was a little longer :) I even read it to my husband.
