Love is ugly and secrets will destroy you.

I don’t beg.
I don’t cry.
And I don’t give second chances.

Ream, the lead guitarist of the rock band Tear Asunder, deserves a gold medal for best dick move ever when he ran the moment he discovered my secret after two days of hot sex. Then he brings some chick to my coming home party from the hospital—after being shot.
I hate him.

Until …

Ream’s six foot two frame unfolds out of the car after being gone on tour for eight months. I stared. And in my defense, any girl would stare. It would almost be rude not to because Ream was the type of guy who stood out. Not because he was loud and obnoxious. No, it was because he was the complete opposite. Subtle and dangerously quiet. If he spoke, you’d better hope he liked you because otherwise you’d be falling at his feet begging for mercy. Except me … I don’t beg—ever.
But when our eyes locked, it was Ream’s steady confidence that had my nerves shooting off like jet sprinklers.

Ream told me he didn't need a second chance because he was still working on his first.

Sex is ugly. It’s using someone for your own narcissistic pleasure. I did it, but hated it—until her. She was unexpected. Then I had to wreck our beginning with my screwed up past. I don’t deserve her, but I’m selfish and I’m taking her anyway. This is who I am and it’s too late to change me.

One word: exhausting ….but in the most blissful way Ream was all kinds of messed up, and because of that, he was forced to have this awful jerk persona. He was extremely possessive and unrelenting in his protectiveness towards those he cares for.  Kat, however, could handle every single inch of him and his personality. Every word and smart-alec remark Ream would spit out, Kat would dish it right back. These two got close during the first book; both romantically and simple friendliness. They were able to connect in a way they’ve never been able to do before with anyone else. On top of that, they had an incredible sexual bond as well. Though there was obviously something not quite right with Ream, they still managed to have fun hook-ups.  Ream’s past is something that is a constant struggle and nightmare for him. It’s never allowed him to cross the barriers and have an deep relationship with friends, but especially with women. His dark, twisted past keeps him from enjoying certain sexual acts, even with Kat. Both quick to jump to conclusions and not willing to talk things out, Kat and Ream keep away from one another despite their powerful attraction. However, after the band comes home, Ream’s determined to get Kat back and Kat… she still wants nothing to do with him.   Kat was in serious denial for a good portion of the book. She kept denying her feelings for Ream, almost as if she simply wanted to make him suffer to prove a point. Ream might not be first in line for a second chance, but the least she could’ve done was sit down and have a mature conversation. Just as the two start to become civilized and hopeful of a future together, a dreadful storm begins to stir up for them. Ream’s past just doesn’t want to stay locked away and comes crashing down on him and Kat. Secrets are unveiled and a life or death situation rears its ugly head. Overall I thought this was a great installment in the Tear Asunder series. It was definitely angsty and dark and exactly what I expected from Nashoda Rose. It was very over the top in just about every way, but I didn’t seem to mind it as I read. Rose’s writing had me so far gone into the characters feelings and actions that the elaborate plot details had me envisioning the story in my head rather than nitpicking at it. Like the title, this story will be overwhelming, but if you pace yourself and take breaks to breathe and process it bit by bit, you’ll end up falling in love with it by the end.

So much depth, so much emotion, so many problems that just seem exhausting at times. I loved this book overall but it took me a long while to actually get through it as it was so intense, in a slow moving, exhausting way. This group of friends are so complex and damaged, you cant help but read on, but i do need breaks in this series, breaks to then come back, ready for more overly intense, emotionally draining, really great stories.

If there is one thing some writers do that makes me ready to stop reading mid sentence, and either delete it if it's digital, or donate if it's paper, it's being aware that the main character has some big secret affecting their every action, thought, and reaction to everything else around them, and being kept in the dark about what it is. The previous book in this series was good enough to make me grit my teeth through it, but it still pretty much left me hoping someone would either just freaking spill, or shoot her, and end the ceaseless annoyance. As a female vet, I can honestly say it is FAR more irritating than sharing a tent in the middle of summer with a chain-smoking alcoholic who considered 30 days wearing full battle gear and camo, a good excuse to not even try to keep clean. I skipped meals for a solid two weeks, and slept outside any tent until I could buy my own, because even 15 years later, I can still remember living on the third floor of the opposite end of the building from her supply room on the ground floor, and knowing she had arrived just by smell, that far away. Yet, this, "oh poor me, he dumped my drugs and stormed off, and there's a simple reason why I need to shoot up like a junky every day, but you won't know why until you're ready to reach into the book and strangle me, not even caring if you know anymore." All kinds of serious medical conditions exist, and there are as many ways of coping as there are people. Hell, I haven't left my house during daylight in years, unless there was no other choice. Guess why? LOL nope, I'm not telling! Because I can be as annoying as I want! Hey, wanna read my story? No? Boohoo, you're so mean! Yeah. This book is an absolute perfect study in frustration, and the whole not-gonna-tell bs ruined a book that otherwise would have been great. It's just one hair short of so aggravating, I would never read another thing from the author, because getting angry makes my medical problems worse. But I won't tell you why. Because I can. I hope the author comes across this review, and those of other frustrated readers, and gets it. She's a good writer, and with a bit more experience, could be great, but not if she sticks to such low tactics to keep people reading.

I love this author because her stories are raw and dark.

There are just too many problems with this author I don't know where to start. The characters are flat, overly sexed, beyond flawed, and climaxes are extreme. I love a hot read but the only thing that was descriptive was the sex scene after every trauma. What woman wants sex immediately after a near assault. Why is it her characters can go into detail of how hot someone is but not into why someone behaves a certain way? This is the 3rd in the series I've read. First was awful, this one was bad but tolerable, and the third was ok. It appeared all of the men shared identical behavior, dialogue, and mannerisms. It was only the drama that changed because the men's "I don't care how you feel because I make the decisions" attitude came as no surprise. Also the over involved friends was beyond annoying and made me cringe to read. This book gave too much focus on sex and not enough on what the characters had in common beyond it. I will not make the mistake of reading her work again.

Ream and Kat's story had so many twists and turns that it was tedious to read. I ended up skimming over pages, just to get it done with. The first book is so much better than this one!

These books are so filled with emottion and you are torn from your world into the story and every emotion the characters feel flood your body. The writing is that good and intense. The books are well rounded despite the tourmoil and have a hea that fits and isnt corny. So glad i found this series...love both books. Just bought the authors next book and cant wait to dive in. I mentiined in my review for her first book in the series that i appreciated her bringing light to a serious subject needing wxposure and she gave slavery/sex trade that in a way everyone reading the book would be screaming for change. Now the author does so again in this book with cats medical condition. So i thank the author again for both delivering a FANTASTIC book but also for giving a voice to people that need one.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review Amazing story, series, author... just WOW! This is Kat & Ream's story. The two are stubborn, strong and hiding something. The characters are great, as is their interaction... plus how freaking cool is Clifford! A very real feel, touching on dark subjects, personal challenges and unconditional love. Highly recommend

4.5 Totally Overwhelmed Stars Nashoda Rose has hit rockstar status in my mind. This is Book 2 in the Tear Asunder series and I recommend you read the books in order including the prequel. Kat and Ream finally get their story told. After reading the first book, it was obvious something went down between them and although this book picks up from the ending of book one we get flashbacks which fill in the blanks. I was hooked from the beginning when we get Ream's POV, loved it. He is total bad boy but I had no idea how messed up his past was. The beginning of each chapter we get a Ream flashback which hints to the darkness that filled Ream's life and my warning is that this book is just as dark as the first.  The growth of Ream and Kat as a couple was great although at first I found Kat to be a little annoying. She obviously has had feelings for Ream for quite some time and I know she was worried about getting hurt, I just wish she didn't drag that part out for so long. Of course there is some drama along the way and it helps to highlight Ream's possessive side which I loved but then everything comes crashing down around the 70% mark. I literally was gonna lose it. No joke, I felt the anticipation building in my gut as I was reading and my heart rate started picking up. My friends, that obviously is a sign of the amazing writing of Nashoda Rose. So why the 1/2 point deduction? Well, it was a bit too much for my personal preferences and some aspects I can't believe Ream wouldn't have noted sooner. Still, the book is amazing and there isn't a cliffhanger. Best of all, I now have fallen in love with Crisis as a character. He is always so funny and a complete womanizer, but his care and attention for Kat, loved it. Ms. Rose if by chance you catch my review, I certainly hope Crisis' book is coming soon. Until then, I'm looking forward to seeing Deck whip Georgie into shape, or maybe vice versa ;) Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review

4 stars = I REALLY liked this book Let me start by saying the while I have read With You, I have not yet read Torn from You (a situation I plan to rectify as soon as possible) so I wasn’t exactly what to expect. Fortunately, Overwhelmed by You can be read as a stand-alone without confusion; yes, there are references to things that happened in Torn from You, but nothing that left me feeling lost. I usually enjoy series in which the books can be read as a stand-alone but characters from previous books are present, and this was no exception – I thoroughly enjoyed Overwhelmed by You and devoured the book in a matter of hours.  Ream and Kat are the focus of this installment in the Tear Asunder series and theirs is a rocky journey full of twists and turns that will leave you with a sense of awe of everything they overcome as they attempt to move forward in their relationship … that is, when they finally agree to try to have one. Normally the number of plot twists that are found in this book leaves me feeling like the book is overly contrived; yet Ms. Rose succeeds in helping the reader navigate the couple’s conflicts in such a way that the incidents don’t feel forced. Ream and Kat’s relationship is explosive as they are both passionate people, which results in a lot of hurtful things being said as they fight the pull to one another. The nice thing about passionate characters is that it makes for some really hot sex scenes and Ms. Rose does not disappoint.  Overwhelmed by You is the story of two very broken people who shouldn’t work, yet do when they finally acknowledge that what they need in their lives is the other person. This is a very well-written book that can be read as a stand-alone, but I suspect the series will be more enjoyable when all of the books are read – something I hope to do sooner rather than later.  I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.  Reviewed by Angela at Crystal's Many Reviewers!

Kat and Ream continue their tumultuous relationship in this story.  Kat and Ream have both gone out of their way to hurt each other.  They each lashed out when the other one hurt their feelings.  Ream decides that he has had enough of their tiptoeing around their feelings for each other so he decides to get Kat to agree to have a relationship.  In typical Nashoda Rose fashion, there are twists and turns and things you perceive to be true turn out to be false.  Overall a decent story and more than interesting enough to keep reading.
