About the Author
Born in California (and always a California girl at heart), I'm now a teacher in the Upper Midwest. I wrote my first novel at the age of seven – a saga about a family of chipmunks and the family of ducks who lived in the pond next door. I’ve been writing ever since.
My husband and I are lucky enough to have two smart, wonderful children who live on opposite coasts of the US. Since I've become a HarperImpulse author, my remaining daydream is to live in Paris or London.

I won a copy of this book from a giveaway. I was not required to give a favorable review. This was an wonderful story how love in the business world really does happen. And also second chances can happen even when it seems bleak. Madison walked out of their wedding 3 years ago because she overheard him say that he wanted a trophy wife. She wanted to get her MBA. Her father was never going to let her sit on the board of her family coming which came from her moms family. Jake didn't get a chance to explain, now he was running his family business since his dad died. She may loose her family business because of her dead father & his CFO. She goes to beg him for help. He might on one condition. See how business & love works.
This was a trope heavy romance with some of my favourites. Jake and Madison grew up together and fell in love early which makes it hard to understand why Madison left Jake standing at the altar three years ago. Now disaster has hit Madison's family business and Jake is the only one she can turn to. She has a plan but she needs finance. Jake doesn't think it's a viable option but he still wants Madison and sees an opportunity to get her back and maybe take his revenge. You have to like that. I wasn't altogether sure I bought the reason for Madison to jilt Jake but I have to remind myself that she was 20 and he was only 24 so they were both young and lacked maturity. One of those impulse of the moment things you regret forever. What I did like was that we could see that both Madison and Jake still had feelings for each other when you got past the hurts of the past. There were no real third parties to complicate things for the reader (not so much for the protagonists). Overall this was a feel good romance with likeable characters and a sweet ending. Received a Netgalley ARC for review.
