I haven’t read the whole series but in the case of this book I advise readers to read book 7 in the series prior to reading this one as this book is a continuation of book 7. There is also a cliffhanger at the end of this book, so be warned and prepared to have a need to read the next book in the series! The plot has both strong male and female characters, even though it’s an alpha/omega story. Kardos and Shaya, the two main characters in this story, have a great connection to each other. There is a lot of action and the story moves along at a steady pace. It’s a well thought out and written story that has some surprises along the way to keep the reader well and truly engaged! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the second book in Shaya and Kardos' story arc. You need to read Own To Obey first or you will not get the start of their story. As things continue to unfold in this romance, you are left on edge as Shaya struggles with her situation and Kardo's continues to be blinded by his quest to rule. This is a dark read, so it is not for everyone. So if in doubt, I recommend you give the book a pass. It is easy to get caught up in these characters and their story. Things are complicated, complex and often painful. Does end in a cliffhanger inpreperation of the next book.

4.5 stars. Book 2 of Kardos and Shaya’s story was a roller coaster of hating this alpha then loving this alpha to ending with hating this alpha. His communication with Shaya sucks big time. I love how Zoey writes these books from both perspectives of the alphas and the omega so that way we understand the thoughts behind the madness. The southern isles have some crazy traditions and ideas but he totally explains why Kardos is the way he is. Just poor Shaya! I throughly enjoyed this series rather than Malloron and Amara because this Kardos and Shaya reminds me of the push and pull of Drocco and Caitlyn relationship. It has the same intensity which is what pulled me back to this series. I made it only to 56 % of Reign to Rule and I’m still trying to finish it. Meanwhile I read both Own to obey and Own to obsess within 5 days ?? ???? I received an advanced reader copy of this book to review.

Wow! What a rollercoaster! I loved this sequel to Own To Obey. I found it more emotionally fulfilling with its twists and turns around the push/pull relationship between Shaya and Kardos. I found myself deeply frustrated (with both of them) and close to tears at certain pivotal moments in the story. The erotic scenes I also found more powerful in this installment than the last one because of the deeper emotional components and expectations (sometimes false) on both sides of the relationship. They both make bad decisions and their failure to communicate is the major source of my frustration but when they come together... it's an absolute wow! Hot, powerful, and as vivid as the descriptions of the harsh but beautiful Southern Lands themselves. One thing the author has done is create distinct worlds via the Eastern (Drocco), Western (Malloron), and Southern Lands so I appreciate how much attention to detail she's paid to ensure that nothing sounds duplicated or repetitive. And what a cliffhanger. I knew it was coming but in light of the fact that Shaya and Kardos seemed (key word seemed) to come to some sort of understanding or resolution, for it all to go sideways, but it was a fantastic cliffhanger. I am so eager for the final installment in this series and even the return of my ever-favorite character, Drocco. ;) *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*

Kardos's and shaya's saga continues!!! I seriously never want their story to end!! But that's how I feel with each of Zoey's couple's she has given to us! This was another amazing addition to the series. I'm so addicted to Zoey Ellis's omegaverse. I can't wait for the next book.

Own to Obsess picks up where Own to Obey left off. Shaya and Kardos have many uphill battles to fight in the Southern Isles. One of the biggest battles, in my opinion, is themselves. I really like these two together but, man, they really frustrate me too. They are perfect for each other and compliment each other well. However, their communication skills with each other is sorely lacking. This poor communication leads to many misunderstandings and hurt feelings. There is drama, danger, secrets, and mistrust abound. There are also some really steamy moments as well. This story was a page turner and I just couldn't put it down. The book does end on a cliffhanger with Shaya making a poor decision. Although one made out of what she thinks is self-preservation. Will Shaya and Kardos' relationship make it? Will they ever gain acceptance in the eyes of the people of the Isles? I will be anxiously waiting for the next book to find out. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*

Wow! Zoey Ellis continues her winning streak with part 2 of Kardos and Shaya’s story. I’m loving these characters. Kardos is big and bad and oh so very very alpha. He controls everything and everyone in his world. Shaya is sweet but stronger than she knows and is his perfect match. Major cliffhanger but oh so very worth it. Eagerly looking forward to the next book which continues their story. I’m always a bit wary when there are warnings on a book but in this case he is who he is supposed to be. He’s not maliciously cruel, he’s just who his world has made him. She’s not wimpy, she’s way stronger than she knows, and than he knows. Together they are amazing. My warning is don’t be lulled when things start to look like they’ll be happy because this author loves to keep us guessing. Exciting storyline, hot love affair and two characters that appear to be totally mismatched but are actually perfect together, but they haven’t figured that out yet and are NOT making much progress. Very highly recommended but be sure to read Own to Obey (Book 1 of Kardos and Shaya’s story). (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

It's such an emotional rollercoaster... I LOVE IT! This second book starts off right where it was left off in the last book and takes us further into Kardos' (and now Shaya's) world. There are many tense moments that leave you right at the edge of your seat, especially the ending! What a cliffhanger! What really captured my attention was how vastly different this book couple are from the past 2. Things you would expect to happen, didn't and vice versa. It's a great way to keep us hooked and question what will happen next. I'm ready, yet dreading, how this book will end to wrap up the series. *I received an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.
