Oz Odyssey II by Roger S. Baum, Roger Stanton Baum

"The Oz Odyssey II"© is joining us with new and old Oz friends. Some, not so friendly, like Maelstrom. Maelstrom, oh yes, Maelstrom, a new character for Oz. She is a cousin of the Wicked Witches of the East and West. Maelstrom possesses a certain amount of evil magic. She teams up with the Nome King to create a spell that threatens Oz.

The story tests Dorothy and her friends, including Glinda. It pits Maelstrom and the Nome King against Glinda's powerful magic. There are four deserts that surround Oz, and they are formidable barriers between Oz and the outside world. Should anyone touch their sands they are immediately turned into sand themselves. One of these deserts is named THE DEADLY DESERT; it is one of the tools that Maelstrom is using to try to conquer Oz in the name of her cousin witches of the East and West.

About the Author

Roger Stanton Baum is a best-selling children’s book author and the great-grandson of L. Frank Baum, creator of the original Oz book series. He has appeared as a guest on Today on NBC as well as Showbiz Today on CNN. Roger has followed in the hallowed footsteps of his ancestor by creating thirteen books to date about the magical Land of Oz. One of his titles, “Lion of Oz and The Badge of Courage,” was made into an animated movie by Sony Wonder airing for the first time in August of 2000 on the Disney Channel and featuring the voices of Tim Curry, Dom DeLuise, Jason Priestly and Lynn Redgrave.

Roger has been recognized by and listed among the prestigious name of Who’s Who in America. Roger promotes his work at book signings as well as special engagements throughout the country. While many authors merely sign and date books, Roger has gained a reputation for composing beautiful and heartfelt dedications to his Oz fans at book signings.

Now, Dorothy of Oz is scheduled to be released by Summertime Entertainment as a 3D animated musical, featuring the voices of Lea Michele, Martin Short, Dan Aykroyd, Kelsey Grammer, Jim Belushi, Megan Hilty, Hugh Dancy, Oliver Platt, and Patrick Stewart.
