Beautiful story about a rare, white squirrel named Ozette, that was wrongly blamed for a forest being destroyed. She flees to Farlandia, and soon makes many friends with the fairies, elves and animals. Through her adventures you learn lessons of kindness and self-acceptence, and you will laugh at some of the silly things she does. Although this is a child's book, I think even an adult would enjoy reading this little squirrel's adventures.

This book is so much more than a story. It's an enlightening tale that will make you think about yourself and how you view nature and those around you. Ozette, the delightful main character, embodies the goodness in everyone's hearts. Her struggles with herself and the dangers brought upon her and her home by humans is enough to make each of us stop and think for a minute. The wonderful world Judy creates is enough to suck any of us in and makes us wonder if there really is a Farland and Farlandia out there. All we have to do is travel through the veil.... Judy is also an amazing person. Each character in her books has a special meaning to her. Speaking with her fills your heart with something you can't even explain. The aura around this wonderful woman makes it easy to see how she created such an amazing setting in her equally as amazing books.

If I still had little ones at home, I would take this and read it every night as a bedtime story for my kidlets. But you don't need kids to adore this story. I simply loved Ozzete and thought she made a wonderful queen. I loved that this book showed the importance of the golden rule was necessary, along with many other things like being kind, honest, noble and courageous, and that in doing that you find the best path in life for not only for yourself but others. It's well done, with fleshed out characters, and a smooth story. Recommended for all ages.

I found my eyes welling up with tears of joy as Duchess Zorina is covered with brightly coloured fae folk and elves, carried through the air and safely to the ground. I was transported at the moment, not only to Farlandia, but my five-year-old self along with me, transfixed into this complete world of Ozette’s forest. We both would like a tiara such as Ozette’s. The sweetly disguised lessons woven into this story help us all to remember of our own need to be kind to ourselves, like Oliver putting his other foot in the water.  A truly contemporary-for-the-kids and retro for their parents and grandparents (“Uptown Squirrel”) fairy tale. When was the last time you read one? Two small criticisms; would have loved to see the illustrator catch the detail of the gray splash on Ozette’s forehead and to the editor that missed that. My mother and I think Ozette’s choice to be a hummingbird was delicious. Oh, and may we please have the honeyhunkettes recipe in the next book?

What a wonderful book!   The story is amazingly delightful! I was spellbound. Judy paints such a vivid picture that I felt like I was by Ozette's side from page one!

What a wonderful book to read to young children! While children will love the adventures of this beautiful white squirrel, adults will be enjoying a very well written book that imparts compassion for wildlife to one and all! This is a book that is sure to please the young and the "young at heart"!

This is an absolutely delightful tale of friendship, kindness, and finding the courage to fulfill one's destiny even if that destiny is not of your choosing. This story is a fun read for adults as well as children. I highly recommend it!
