As a Kindergarten teacher, I find my students love it when they begin to read the Step into Reading books on their own. Those who are ready for the Level Two books love this cute little adventure. P.J. Funnybunny is a familiar character to them and most can relate to the idea of a camping trip. The vocabulary is fairly simple so they can sound out most words on their own and with a little coaching they can sound out the longer words. There tends to be a paragraph on each page which also delights children who are ready to read something other than a couple of sight words.
