About the Author

Melanie P. Smith is an American, Multi-Genre author of Paranormal, Criminal Suspense, Police Procedural and Romance novels. She retired from the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office in 2016 after 26 years of service. Most of her career was in the Special Operations Division where she worked closely with Search & Rescue (SAR), the Mounted Posse, K9, the Motorcycle unit and SWAT. During this time, she coordinated communications and logistics for SWAT & SAR on hundreds of emergency callouts. She was also a member of the Logistic Unit for the Child Abduction Response Team (CART). Melanie utilizes her knowledge and experience working with these highly specialized units to make her novels interesting and realistic. She has an Associates Degree in Marketing, a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Management and a Postgraduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Negotiations.
