In our fast paced, over worked, little time society, many of us have to buy prepackaged foods which may be missing a lot of the natural ingredients and nutrients that our bodies need to be healthy. Not to mention the high cost of buying these not so healthy convenience foods at your local grocery store.
And it's almost impossible to find prepackaged foods that follow the guidelines of your particular diet plan, for example, the Paleo Diet. But what's the alternative?
Well, canning and preserving food has been a way of life for hundreds of years.
As one who has grown up with canning and preserving in my childhood, I was happy to discover that I could choose to buy nutritious foods that follow the Paleo plan and do canning and preserving of these foods at home. This idea allows anyone to stick with the plan, eat healthier, and always have the right foods available to eat when you need them. Kind of like healthy fast food, Right?
