About the Author

Bill grew up in the oil and gas refinery town of Phillips in the Texas Panhandle. He said it was a perfect place to grow up because the town of four thousand lived pretty much at the same socio-economic level. All the company-owned homes had green asbestos roofs and white shingle siding. Most everyone drove Fords or Chevys.
After graduating from college with a Masters Degree, he spent most of his career working for a major insurance company as an agency manager and consultant.
About five years before retirement he told his wife he wanted to write a novel. He’d had an idea rolling around in his head for about ten years. The result is Pepperman’s Promise--the first book in The Pepperman Mystery Series.
One of his hobbies includes going to various sports venues across the country. He’s seen baseball games at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Camden Yards in Baltimore, St. Louis and Arlington. One special trip was to South Bend ,Indiana, to watch a Notre Dame game. He’s also attended college football games at Baylor, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Texas, and Oklahoma.
Bill married his wife Liz in 1969. They have two daughters, Blythe and Brook, two grandchildren Chloe and Foster, and two sons-in-law, Jeff and Justin. Bill constantly asks Jeff and Justin to repair broken items. They say having Bill as a helper is like having no help at all.
