This is the third book of Deidre¿s Knight¿s Midnight Warrior¿s series. What can I say¿ it was simply AMAZING!!! The book kept me up all night reading. This series is really different, but still full of the elements I crave in a good romance: action, kewl gadgets, intrigue, a wonderful setting and sizzling romance. Again, Deidre penned another incredible tale, this one centered around two characters of the series I¿ve come to know and love Scott and Hope, with the added complicated element of Jake Tiery weaved in. Every time I read one of Deidre¿s books, I¿m amazed at her literary voice it¿s mesmerizing, as if her words are waving me in a trance I can¿t seem to break until I finish the dang book, LOL. Anyway, just wanted to share my enthusiasm over Parallel Seduction, I¿m hooked on this series!!!

In PARALLEL SEDUCTION FBI linguist, Hope Harper, ends up at the hide-away Refarian base in the Teton Range. Scott Dillon, King Jared¿s Lieutenant, was injured in PARALLEL HEAT while saving Hope¿s life during an Antousian battle at Warren Air Force Base. While he is recuperating from his injuries, an infiltrator, Jake Tierney, comes into their midst from another dimension. And whisks Hope away with her confused approval. Hope has the handicap of almost total blindness and needs to trust that this stranger won¿t do her harm in her out-of-focus world. She needs great inner strength and perseverance to live through the trial the stranger takes her through. He tells her he loves her and knows what happens to her in the future. While Hope is traveling with Jake, Scott leaves the hospital against doctor¿s orders to save Hope. He¿s afraid that without her eyesight, she won¿t survive long in the elements or with her abductor. But an unearthly force weakens him further. Hope and Scott eventually face a trial that tests their love and loyalty to each other when they come up against the Antousian enemy, Veckus. Will it be Hope and Jake or Hope and Scott? Deidre Knight has created a masterpiece that keeps the pages turning! Hope Harper¿s disability and the riveting plot turn up the tension in this third book of the MIDNIGHT WARRIOR series. It¿s my most favorite read so far.

Deidre Knight's love for her characters shines through in this third book of what is now entitled the Midnight Warriors series. A quick overview: Due to genetic experimenting, two alien races are pitted against one another in a desperate bid to save lives. Unfortunately, it is at the cost of Refarian lives and any other species capable of supporting the energy forms of their one-time allies, the Antousians. Now Earth is slowly awakening to an unknown presence and the Refarians are determined that humankind will not suffer the same fate they did. Can these midnight warriors deflect the escalating dangers before it's too late? Hope Harper faces many challenges, most notably those on the physical plain. More recently, her heart begins just as precarious a journey. As an FBI translator, her work has brought her in direct contact with the alien hybrid, Scott Dillon. Finally, her life has a purpose and she's not about to let the gruff, sexy and insecure lieutenant use her near-blindness as an excuse to keep her out of the action. Something about the man draws her like no other and just when she's beginning to rough out the feelings, along comes a mysterious time traveler, Jake Tierny. Visions that feel like memories show Hope that both men will be very important in her life and she is both dismayed and intrigued to find Jake equally as attractive as Scott. Jake is clearly here for a purpose and when he sets out to complete his mission, Hope becomes further embroiled in a race to save not only the people of Earth, but the men she loves as well. Who will she choose--Dillon, whose personal war threatens their happiness or Jake, whose time on this current Earth is precarious at best? This installment picks right up where Parallel Heat left off and it's a wham bam rocking first chapter start that sets the speed for the rest of the book. Dismayed as this reader was to have two men vying equally for Hope's affections, I was in turn absolutely delighted to discover the clever twist Ms. Knight invents involving the three. Hope's limitations do not define her, and though she has the understandable down moments, she's a true heroine, one of fire, clever personality and a heart that just won't quit. Taken in that light, it's really no wonder both Scott and Jake pine for her. Scott was a favorite secondary character from the first two books and his story is probably the most prolific in terms of hero character development. Finally we are treated to his inner musings and what makes those insecurities tick. I loved him all the more for them. Jake, whom I originally thought of as 'the interloper' was one that packed an amazing emotional punch by the end of Seduction. Characters from the other novels do figure in, most notably the Refarian King and Queen, Jared and Kelsey, and their story is nicely rounded out. Thank goodness we're in for more Midnight Warriors--Parallel Desire is set for release December 4, 2007 and it can't come fast enough for me!

FBI linguist Hope Harper met half-breed Scott Dillon when the American military imprisoned him just prior to the war with the deadly Antousian invaders from space. They worked together to save the ¿timeline¿ and consequently the earth. The earthling female and the Refarian-Antousian warrior fell in love as she helped him survive his battle injuries and believe they have a life together.------------------- However, the Refarian monarch sends another time traveler to insure the timeline is properly secured. Jake Tierney finds alterations in time that he cannot rectify and leaves him trapped. He also realizes he wants Hope. Scott fears the newcomer will destroy his new found happiness as he knows that Hope is attracted to both time travelers. She must choose between them as she shares ¿fond memories¿ with both of them.------------------ The latest ¿Parallel¿ romantic science fiction thriller (see Parallel Attraction and Parallel HEAT) is an exciting much more complex thriller as Deidre Knight cleverly uses the paradoxes of time travel to shake up the linear relativity that readers use as a foundation of existence. The story line is driven by the triangle as Hope shares common memories with both time traveling hunks. The Lovin¿ Spoonful¿s classic refrain: ¿Did you ever have to make up your mind? Pick up on one and leave the other behind. It¿s not often easy and not often kind. Did you ever have to make up your mind¿ seems so apropos to this fabulous sci fi romance.---------------- Harriet Klausner
