About the Author

Alexis used her time during the pandemic to write her first novel. When she isn't writing, she enjoys reading, playing bridge and interacting with her cats. She lives in Alberta, Canada.
Alex is based in England and is a self-professed Jack of all trades (and still a master of none). Her background includes forensics, teaching, PR and exploding custard (yes on purpose). She writes sci-fi, fantasy and steampunk. Currently working on a time-travel steampunk novel, you’ll find her tied up in timelines, getting thoroughly confused and making her mother listen as they try and figure out how to untangle it all again. I have not previously been published, although some of my microfiction and short stories can be found online under my pen name. While I've written fiction for private amusement since I was a teenager, I only recently escaped a nearly two decade-long career as a commercial real estate attorney. Even in the throes of drafting loan documents and contracts, it had always been my dream to pursue publication of my fiction. At the moment, beyond churning out short stories originating in vivid dreams and random moments of whimsy, I am completing the final draft of my first novel and hope to release it into the world sooner rather than later.
Jorie Rao is a emerging Writer with experience in blogging, editing, and creative writing. She has her MA in Writing and Composition Theory and has been published on many online sites and magazines.
