This is such a great book. The story is fabulous and the narrators work great together. You will definitely want to listen to this. I love Lauren Blakely books, I mean who doesn't. This is a typical marriage of convenience story, but the setting is incredible and the way Elise and Christian work together and interact is amazing. I think my favorite part of the story was the beginning (lust at first sight) and the ending (juvenile corruption). I love that history is repeating itself and there is no shame in it. As for the narrators, they work really well together. The story was engaging and the American combined with the British was a great combo.

This was just a lot of fun! I really enjoyed just about everything about this audiobook. This book had a lot of things going for it with a sweet and sexy story read by two excellent narrators. I have only had the chance to listen to Lauren Blakely's books twice before starting this book but I have found all of the books I have read to be remarkably well done. I am so glad that I had the chance to listen to this fun and romantic story. This is one of those books that doesn't have a whole lot of surprises but it doesn't matter because the journey is just delightful. I am finding that books with fake relationships are really working for me lately. Most fake relationships in books quickly turn into real relationships and this book is no exception. I had such a great time spending time with Christian and Elise and they fell for each other and their initial meeting really set the playful tone of the story. Christian and Elise were both great characters. Elise's past was unexpected and really did a great job of giving the reader some insight into her hesitation to put her heart at risk. I usually fall for the Heroes in this kind of book and I had no problem falling for Christian. His personality was just magnetic and he really was a fantastic guy. I really enjoyed that this book is told in alternate points of view so that I got the chance to experience the thoughts and feelings of both Christian and Elise. I loved the narration. This was the first time that I have had a chance to listen to both Shane East and Grace Grant and I thought that they both did a wonderful job with this story. They both were able to handle the story's dialogue really well and I thought that it was a great decision to have the narrators read the text messages written their characters. I thought that each narrator did a great job of adding emotion to the story and adding some heat at just the right time. I would not hesitate to listen to more of each of these narrators work in the future. I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. This was a quick feel-good romantic read that often put a big smile on my face. It was so easy to fall for these characters as they were falling for each other. I look forward to reading more from Lauren Blakely soon. I received a review copy of this audiobook from Lauren Blakely Books via Inkslinger PR.

A Review of Part Time Lover by Lauren Blakely Elise and Christian - 5+++++ Stars If you've read Wonderlust, then you should remember these two side characters from there. We get to delve into their lives a couple of years prior to when we met them, which was very interesting and moving in a lot of ways. We get to learn more about Elise and how she and Joy became such good friends. Elise has walls up for many different reasons and finding out what all of her buttons are was fascinating and enlightening. There are so many twists and turns that you will be glued to the edge of your seat, just waiting for the next one to hit. I don't want to spoil this for other readers, but you definitely will want to get this one as soon as you can. It is definitely part of my top ten books for this year and one that I would read again and again. **Honest review voluntarily provided from a Complimentary Copy**

Christian is ridiculously swoony and I just love him! I love the back and forth that him and Elise have. They have a very enjoyable connection and one of the funniest first meetings ever. They connect well on so many levels and have such a bond. I really liked the way fate was brought into the story a lot. They do have to kind of relationship that is plain old fate. They make too much sense to not be. Both of them were really interesting to read about and the storyline was so enjoyable. The book has great sexy time and some really cute moments between them. Such a great read!

I feel like I've been popping my new to me author cherry a lot lately! I've been meaning to read this author and so glad it finally happened. I'm sorry it took so long, my TBR and arc list is insane right now. This book was... torture. Like the good kind. Total slow burning, melt your panties agonizing torture! In the beginning, you get to see how Elise and Christian meet. Well sort of. It's pretty funny, and the little name error was perfect as it keeps you saying and thinking... what if? I love the fact that Christian believes it's fate when they "meet" again a year later. Elise, on the other hand, isn't a believer in fate... more like coincidence or chance. Needless to say, Christian has his work cut out for him. I think that's part of the fun of this book, the chase. Their chemistry is undeniable and oh so sexy and Christian is just charming and funny, confident, and sexy as all getup. Plus he has an accent... instant swoon!! I love his innuendos and dirty mouth. I also love that Elise keeps right up with him and dishes it back out to him. It's fun to watch their verbal sparring. Easy to read, fun banter and some laugh out loud moments that made this book charming. What a great book of Lauren's I picked to be my first one! Definitely a new fan and will be going back to read more of her books I have on my kindle. #B2BKristina

Who else but Lauren Blakely could dream up a storyline where the hero and heroine meet when he’s flashing his stunning family jewels for her and a boatload of tourists on a canal in Copenhagen? I absolutely adore everything Lauren writes because she has such a vivid imagination and because she’s so prolific I don’t have to wait long to find out what else is brewing in her orgasmic imagination. Christian is a very confidant man with tons of charisma and even though Elise wants nothing to do with love, fate is determined to play its part by bringing them together. Expect lots of flirtatious banter and sexy shenanigans with a European flair that guarantees a 5 star romance filled adventure. I read an early copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

Part-Time Lover by Lauren Blakely is a standalone romantic comedy about two characters we met from Wanderlust. It's not needed to read Wanderlust before reading Part-Time Lover, but if you haven't read it yet, it is a must read. This novel stars Elise and Christian who first met from afar, by happenstance, while Elise was on a boat tour and Christian was on the docks performing handstands on the docks for the tourists that sailed by. It isn't until a year later in Paris that they meet again in-person through their best friends. The attraction that sparked a year before is still strong as they begin to get to know each other on Friday dates and become friends and so much more. However, before their relationship heats up to the next level, Christian receives a phone call from his brother and soon he finds his part-time lover, is now his full-time wife. A well-written and absolutely romantic story, Ms. Blakely creates another pair of endearing and fleshed out characters with heart and soul. I loved Elise and Christian's flirtiness and how we get a lot of time to see them as a couple and learn more about them throughout the novel. I also liked their friendships with their siblings, and their friends, Griffin and Joy, and Veronica. The what could go wrong aspect of this book was nicely balanced with how much could go oh so right. Fun, sexy and romantic, I very much recommend Part-Time Lover by Lauren Blakely. These characters will make you fall in love with them on every page. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance review copy of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

Let me tell you, Lauren Blakely just keeps writing swoon worthy, sexy romantic comedies that really pack a punch. Christian and Elise were so fun to fall for. I could definitely make Part-Time Lover a full-time binge read over and over. Lauren Blakely had me at hot Danish doing naked handstands. But more than that, it was the person behind the handstand. The no expectations and no strings attached arrangement was way harder than either Christian or Elise expected. Two people who give of them selves to help others may just end up hurting them. I loved throwing myself into their story in the city of love. You know a book is good when you find yourself talking to the characters. Let’s just say, I did a lot of talking!

This! This right here is why I love reading romance!! Another winner for Lauren Blakely! Engaging and sharp writing, great dialogue, likeable and relatable characters... it's all here. At the end of this book I am blinking, happy tears and smiling so hard my face hurts. The mark of a truly great romance. Our main characters are Elise and Christian. We met both of them in Wanderlust as friends of Joy and Griffin ( respectively). Even if you have not read Wanderlust ( which is fantastic so pick this one up too), you will have no trouble diving into this. Big theme in this book is.....do you believe in fate? Is anything fated to be? Or simply chance? The book begins with a missed opportunity for Elise and Christian to meet. A plan to get together that through a misunderstanding never happens. Fast forward a year when Christian and Elise are introduced through friends. Christian is refreshing as a basically happy, well-adjusted guy. No darkness or deep secrets or manhoe behaviors. Content with his life and not looking for love. Elise is sophisticated and kind. Loving her life in Paris. Elise has built some inpenetrable walls around her heart. And when we find out why it is completely understandable. Their relationship begins as fun which progresses to physical. The author excels at bringing on the sexual tension and when it happens.... Boom! Super hot, beautiful and emotional all at once. Without spoiling any plot points, various circumstances cause them to spend even more time together both in and out of bed. Feelings develop much to the chagrin of them both. So will fate have its say with these lovers? You will have to read to find out. This romance is flawless and I loved it. I knew Christian and Elise's story would be awesome and it really was. Two big thumbs up for Ms. Blakely's latest! Reviewed by: Jamie B.

4.5 stars--PART-TIME LOVER by Lauren Blakely is a contemporary, adult, stand alone erotic, romance story line focusing on language translator Christian Ellison of British / Danish decent, and British / French business woman Elise Durand. Although Christian and Elise were first introduced to the reader in the author’s Wanderlust, PART-TIME LOVER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Told from dual first person perspectives (Christian and Elise) PART-TIME LOVER follows the in the aftermath of a ‘missed opportunity’ in Denmark wherein a chance meeting between Christian and Elise is only the beginning of their fated relationship. Fast forward one year, and fate will throw our couple together, once again, but this time Christian isn’t willing to let go without a fight as he pursues the woman who has starred in all of his fantasies for close to a year. What ensues is the ‘friends with benefits’ relationship, on Elise’s terms, that soon grow into something more when, in order to save the Ellison family business, Elise makes Christian an offer he is unable to refuse-a marriage of convenience with an end date-an end that neither one was willing to accept. The relationship between Christian and Elise is fated by circumstance, by chance, by attraction and by spirit. Elise doesn’t do romance or relationships. Burned in the past, our heroine is no longer willing to risk her heart for a possible happily ever after that will never come to be. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. PART –TIME LOVER is a fantastic addition to any romance reader’s collection of memorable, sassy and sexy story lines. The back and forth, one on one witty interaction and inter-play between our leading couple is refreshing, amusing, clever and fun. Lauren Blakely pulls the reader into an edgy, emotional and energetic tale about betrayal, heartbreak, reflection and love.

Aaaahhhh!!! This book made me so happy. I’ve just finished reading it with the dopiest smile on my face. It’s a warm and wonderful story of chance meetings and fateful destinations. Elise Durand is enjoying the sights of the Danish canals when she spies a naked man doing handstands and gets propositioned by him. Christian Ellison is a young, enormously wealthy and newly retired businessman, but life after the office doesn’t sit well with him and he needs a distraction. He thinks he found one in the sexy brunette he flashed one day, but fate conspired to keep them apart until the time was right. A year later, they bump into each other through mutual friends. Has fate spoken? Meeting Elise again couldn’t be just a coincidence, could it? Only one way to find out and this time she wasn’t getting away so easily. Elise is bright and successful too, and on the brink of taking her advertising company to the next level, but needs some outside advise. Christian has a dilemma, one that could only be fixed by getting hitched. One quickie wedding, two newly-weds, and a marriage of convenience later and we have the makings of this beautiful second chances romance. Can these Part-Time Lovers become the real deal?

How could Elise not be smitten or at least quite a bit intrigued when her first ‘encounter’ with Christian is of the naked variety?!? I mean…it’s not every day that someone exploring the sights of a city finds herself ogling a man who just so happens to be doing a naked handstand on the shore. I would have definitely taken a picture for posterity or late night ‘moments’ as well! But their ‘Kodak moment’ was all Christian and Elise had until quite some time later, but now that they’ve reconnected and realized that their attraction is worth pursuing, Elise’s strategy to not let her heart factor into another relationship is adamantly tested by a flirty Danish Brit who has a ‘head for strategy and a body for sin,’ and while Elise can’t quite attest to the first statement yet, what she can attest to is the package that Christian is sporting underneath his clothes, not only because she has the visual reminder of their first interaction but also because a man like Christian can’t have a body that is anything but physical perfection. I adored Christian and Elise’s banter throughout the course of their story. They are both intelligent people and that shows through their savvy business sense as well as their practical natures. The fact that neither of them believes in marriage bodes well for the new partnership that they embark on as does the fact that there is an ‘expiration date’, but it’s still a dicey situation for both Christian and Elise because there has not been too many pairs who enter into a deal of this nature who don’t end up becoming attached, especially when the chemistry between them is as electric as it is when it comes to Christian and Elise’s mutual attraction. I do have to admit that I didn’t really connect with Elise, but it’s not for the reasons some may think. I understand why Elise doesn’t want to venture into marriage or love again; Lauren Blakely clearly illustrates Elise’s feelings of shame and embarrassment when she found out the truth about her husband of six months, and even though it clearly had nothing to do with her being naïve because her husband was clearly a convincing liar, I even get the fact that she blames herself and won’t allow herself to be fooled by another dishonest man. What didn’t quite work for me was how contrary she seemed…almost like her head says one thing while her heart and body say something completely different, and while that kind of thing happens all the time in romance stories, for some reason, Elise’s contrariness annoyed me more than most. I will say, though, that the small glimpses into Elise’s past from her Perfume blog definitely shed much needed light into the woman she was when she was being wooed by her now deceased husband and the woman she became because of his betrayal. Stop and Smell the Days blog is a fitting title for Elise’s musings and through them, her walls made a lot more sense, but it also made me believe that the romantic inside of Elise is still there and Christian is the perfect man to bring down her walls and prove that not all men are like Eduardo. I adored Christian’s playfulness, his intelligence, and his ability to go with the flow when it came to Elise’s obsessive need to remind him and her that their ‘arrangement’ had an end date. His mind for business and language impressed the heck out of me and his relationship with his brother made him the perfect hero for this story.

This was such a fun and sexy marriage of convenience romance! Though the hero and heroine were introduced in the book Wanderlust, Part-Time Lover can be enjoyed as a standalone. Christian and Elise are both driven and independent individuals. They each have some emotional baggage that has left them jaded about love. A chance encounter (or is it fate?) in Denmark throws them into each other's orbits, but a simple mistake keeps them from meeting until a year later in France. Christian and Elise have amazing chemistry from the start and I loved how understanding and supportive they were of each other. One of my favorite scenes was at the soccer field, when Elise came to watch Christian play. The sexual tension and build up was delicious and it intensified even the smallest touches and glances. Yes, their relationship starts out as instalust, but with time, the sexy banter and the push and pull gives way to true connection and emotion. Throw in a marriage of convenience trope to help the family of our hero, and you have a truly entertaining story! Fans of Lauren Blakely will not want to miss this newest standalone romance! *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

4 stars! Fate, flowers, and naked handstands. Lauren Blakely delivers once again!! Part-Time Lover is a really cute and sexy marriage of convenience/second chance romance. I loved this book. It had everything I've come to expect in a Lauren Blakely book - humor, an entertaining storyline, amazing characters, steaminess, and a lot of heart. Add in the bonus of naked handstands from a hot Danish/Brit, obviously, this is not a book you want to miss. I just could not get enough of all things Elise, Christian and Paris. We first met Christian Ellison and Elise Durand in Wanderlust as Griffin and Joy's friends and right away you could tell they had a connection. We learned in Part-Time Lover, before Elise and Christian properly met that night with their friends, they had a history together and it’s hilarious. Their initial run in is my favorite first meet ever. I swear you could not wipe the smile off my face after reading it. Magnificent characters is a Lauren Blakely specialty. Christian and Elise are absolutely delightful. Elise has such a big heart. Yes, most of time it's guarded behind a self erected wall after being hurt in a previous relationship but she's easy to lend a hand or shower a friend with a just because gift. The way she was so quick to help out Christian and his family is proof alone to her kindness. And then there's Christian. Christian is another Lauren Blakely hero that I've fallen head over heels for. He's so funny and charismatic, a bit perverted but in a lovable, flirty, charming way. He makes me laugh and swoon all at the same time. Together…gah!…perfect. You can't go wrong with a Lauren Blakely couple. I can certainly recommend this sexy, sweet book wholeheartedly. I just loved it! Although the characters were introduced in a previous book, this book can be read as standalone.

Christian and Elise gave Griffin Thomas and Joy Lively from Wanderlust a run for their money in terms of being as endearing as they were entertaining. I'm going to have to call it a tie between the two couples because I refuse to play favorites (this time around). This isn't your usual "fake marriage" kind of love story. Christian and Elise were already involved with one another, even though it was a commitment-free type of relationship. These two were destined to be together and even though there was a whole lot of denial on Elise's end, the heart--and true love--wins out, as it always does when it comes to Lauren Blakely's love stories. From Elise catching sight of a naked Christian along the canal in the Netherlands to the sigh-worthy ending that made me believe that neither time nor distance can stand in the way of a forever kind of love, Part-Time Lover proved to be one five-plus-starred winner. ♥

Lauren Blakely strikes again. I love that Lauren Blakely is choosing new and exciting locales for her books, and Part-Time Lover spends time in three different countries. It's wonderful! This story actually began in Wanderlust when Elise mentions to her new friend Joy that she knew Christian - or, at least parts of him - from a trip she had taken to Denmark a year earlier. She spied him doing a naked handstand on a dock while on a water tour of the city. Now, if that doesn't pique your interest... Part-Time Lover opens a year earlier and tells the story of how Elise came to have those very interesting photos of Christian on her phone and of their almost-date afterward. Christian is a big believer in fate, and after the events in this book, I can totally see why. It seemed as if Christian and Elise were definitely destined to be together. This book that goes from Denmark to Paris and then ends in America is not just about how fate continues to put these two in each others' paths. It's about WHY that seems to happen. Both of them need something that, it seems, only the other can provide. It's wonderful how perfectly suited these two are for each other - it' equally wonderful how long it takes them to figure that out for themselves. For Elise's part, she has been dealt a double-whammy of past relationship fails. She is still mired in the heartbreak she experienced and is determined to not let that ever happen to her again. Initially, she sees Christian as a fun way to pass the time and get some sexual relief. She didn't count on them being so perfectly matched for one another. Christian is not looking to settle down at all. He's the consummate playboy. That is, until he needs to marry in order to save his family's company. He needs a wife for three months. Elise needs an adventure to keep her mind off her failed relationship. Win-win. Except... as we all know, these types of situations never go as planned. THANK GOODNESS. Since this is a follow-up to Wanderlust (actually, the events overlap those in Wanderlust a bit), we do get to see Griffin and Joy a few times. It was nice to check in with them to see how they're doing. I, for one, am ready for a book about Christian's brother Erik now. That poor boy needs his HEA. Don't you think, Lauren?

Lauren Blakely does it again and continues to be one of my favorite romance/romcom writers. She has such a wonderful writing style and great sense of humor which give her the ability to create such amazing characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Part Time Lover is definitely full time on romance, chemistry, sweetness, fun, and flirty sexy banter. I adore Christian and Elise and I love how they (sort of) meet for the first time. Unfortunately due to some miscommunication they do not see each other again for a full year. When they do, they decide to have a part time affair because neither is looking for anything serious. But then in order to help his brother Erik, they agree to get married. What starts as a marriage of convenience turns into the real deal because the feelings were always there even if their pasts were preventing them from letting them out full force. Of course there is still some of that pesky miscommunication that gets in the way for a bit and you wonder if things will work. I absolutely loved watching Christian and Elise fall in love for real! They have fantastic chemistry and so much in common and are so good for each other! They complement each other in the best ways! This is such a fulfilling story that touched my heart and made laugh and smile all at the same time. Oooh and I love the epilogues!! 5 Full time stars for Part Time Lover!!

Part-Time Lover by Lauren Blakely is the newest rom-com in a series of standalones. Christian Ellison is the man who captivated Elise´s attention by unique sports demonstration. Yes, that´s a bit vague, but lets stay it by that. Elise is out of a bad relationship and lost her trust in men. She wants a no-string affair. Christian knows that she´s his one, but also she´s skittish. They agree on a arrangement, but neither is happy about that. When fate decides to meddle they´re in for the ride of their lives. Lauren Blakely wrote a beautifully and unique story. I very easily connected with the characters and I can´tv express how much I love them. I could find myself in both. Part-Time Lover was sweet, romantic, enchanting, and just a story that needs to be read. If you haven’t read any of Lauren Blakely’s books yet, this is the book to start with. It is everything a romance lover is looking for. 5 Stars.

A read you’ll devour from their first encounter until the last page. I laughed as my heart melted and fanned when the heat turned up. I highly recommend this read!

Lauren Blakely has done it again. As is par for the course with her work, she has managed to put a huge smile on my face as I read the last words of her latest beauty, Part-Time Lover. Even the most simple of storylines, a marriage of convenience that has the potential to lead to so much more, feels extraordinary in her genius hands. The fated pairing of Elise Durand and Christian Ellison may just be a match made in heaven and with the romance of Paris and Copenhagen as the backdrop to this book, I was certainly floating among the clouds throughout! I know I sound like a broken record yet again, but this author is truly the queen of feel-good romance. I couldn't help but fall hard for both Elise and Christian. Both with walls up and both looking for nothing more than just some fun and some distraction from their lives. But in true Blakely fashion, she somehow manages to bring out only the very best in her characters, and little by little, they break all of their self-imposed dating rules and surrender their hearts willingly. Both Elise and Christian are hard-working professionals who can each dish out a bit of the naughty when enticed. An idea to marry to save a family business seems impulsive but what a great chance to see if all of their hidden feelings are real and enjoy all the physical benefits from such a union. To say they have great chemistry is an understatement and it's not long before thoughts of love enter both their minds and throw each of them for a loop. But what is always the best part of any Blakely book is that we don't have to wait too long before love truly conquers all and two souls become one. Elise and Christian are smart, devoted, loyal to a fault, witty, passionate and are simply made for one another. They have friends and family who are the perfect addition to their story and once again there are a few Easter eggs thrown in that reminds me how much I adore the author's work. Another great read from an author who is clearly in a class by herself, Part-Time Lover is a joy and will make any heart happy. Mine is over the moon as usual. 5 solid stars!
