Overview

Two bloody brilliant short stories from No. 1 bestselling crime writer Stuart MacBride, featuring DS Logan McRae and his boss DI SteelSTRAMASH:Something fishy is happening on the isle of Jura.DS Logan McRae gets a phone call from DI Steel ordering him to come to the island at once. One freezing night’s sleep in a hatchback and two storm-battered ferries later, Logan arrives – but there’s no sign of Steel. She's lumped him in the middle of a policing nightmare, with bodies, and bullets, and tiny wee boats. And a dangerous hard man who’s meant to be dead…DI STEEL’S BAD HEIR DAY:Why is DI Steel in an even worse mood than usual? Is it because it’s Christmas? Or maybe it's because the missing persons case she’s just caught looks like a hoax from a mile off? Or is it because she’s just been left a huge amount of money…?One thing’s for certain: Steel’s having a bad day, and she’s hell bent on making sure Constable Guthrie has one too.

It is a nice patch-over for the next book. I, like many of the fans of the series, was anxiously awaiting news about the fate of our femme fatale. Thank goodness for the preview of the next book. McBride...write faster!

I love Stuart McBride's books! I was intrduced to this author by B&N's free nook books and I am a true fan now! Read these short stories, you will enjoy them, and the people and places Mr. McBride describes!! You will also meet some well known characters if you have read the DS McRae series, I liked that. Great read!

Again I'm disappointed. The description shows 3 MB of content but only has about 60 pages of content. I feel I've been ripped off!!

I am a huge fan of Stuart MacBride but 42 pages! And it did not read like any of the books.  It was more like, "A day in the life of." Was not worth the money even if it was only a couple of dollars. Very disappointed is all I can really say.

I don't know how much other readers rely on reviews to help decide if they want to buy a book but when I'm on the fence about buying and I see good reviews I trust that the reviewer is taking it seriously. Reviews on the freakin book cover or other stupid crap people post just to see their words in print on a public forum are childish and sad. I actually did read the book and it wasn't good. The first story doesn't have Logan in it at all and even though the second story does have him it was bloody boring. I was interested in the sneak peek at Close To The Bone, the new Logan McRae that comes out this month. I was pissed about the way the last one ended and only finished it last night so I'm happy I won't have to wait long for this one.
