4.5 Stars ~Reviewed by ANGELA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog The men of Reckless Beat are falling in love one by one. First, it was Mitchell, now Blake. Just like Mitchell’s story, Blake and Gabi’s relationship was just as sweet. I enjoyed this novel not only for its romance but for Blake’s story of surviving the aftermath of substance abuse. Where Blind Attraction focused on the fame and lifestyle of a rock star, Passionate Addiction focused in his downfall and survival. Blake Kennedy is the bass guitarist for Reckless Beat, and since joining, he has become quite a star. Unfortunately, what came with fame was drug addiction that he has been battling for some time. Winning the battle was made possible by Gabi who has been there for him via social media. Through this connection, their relationship had grown stronger. Though there wasn’t a heavy emphasis, Ms. Eden tackled an even deeper issue in this novel. Blake has to deal with the aftermath of his past on drug use. I love that Ms. Eden used the social media as part of his recovery. I have to say the conversation in the epilogue sucked me right in. I felt Blake’s hardship, and I sensed his determination to beat the addiction. But his issue will not be falling off the wagon but “trust”. Just as any recovering addict or any other victim, they feel undeserving of trust and they avoid asking for help and putting a burden on anyone. It was interesting how he tries to take care of his problems that is bigger than what he can handle. Gabi was okay. She fit her character well and i like that supported Blake the whole time. There was a time when she could not trust Blake, but I don’t blame her. Having a rock star as your boyfriend will have “other woman” issues that are just unavoidable. But she pulled through. She would be dumb not to. Blake is hot, hot, hot, not to mention he is a hopeless romantic. There was less music in this installment but more of dealings with publicity for the band which was not bad at all. The lives of the other band members were mentioned, and the interaction between them was most definitely fun to read. I can tell you this much…there are a lot of drama going on within the band.  I love all the scenes when they are all together.  I’m hoping to get my Reckless Beat fix sooner than later. *ARC Provided by Author

I loved reading about Blake and Gabi. Blake is totally swoon-worthy and knows how to own up to his mistakes. This was another fabulous read by Eden. She completely draws you and you feel for the characters.

“Forgive, Forget. Finally be free.” The men from Reckless Beat are absolutely addicting! Never has a character touched my heart as much as Blake has! Passionate Addiction is a Rock Star love story that will take your breath away. Imagine meeting and talking with someone on the internet, building a trust without even meeting in person, telling them your secrets and downfalls, depending on that someone when you don’t even know what they look like. Fast forward 4 years, and finally you come face to face with this person, this beautiful human being, your savior. What would you do? We first met the bass guitarist of Reckless Beat in Blind Attraction. Remember him? Blake Kennedy, the ridiculously sexy bad boy with witty remarks and a bit of a voyeur streak. I fell in LUST with him in book 1 and I fell in LOVE with him in Passionate Addiction. I never realized how horrible his past was. It broke my heart. This beautiful man came from a deadbeat family, used to do drugs, and didn’t believe he deserved anyone’s love. Argh! I knew this would happen. Tears are running down my face even as I write this review. I would like to thank this author for creating a character so damaged and so broken, that you can’t help but want to heal the man yourself. He has all the pieces to be happy again, he just needs the right “angel” to put them back together, and make him whole. “He had the exterior of a hellion and the soul of the divine – a tangled combination that she had never been able to resist.” Gabrielle Smith – Eden Summers couldn’t have created a more perfect match for Blake. She is strong, independent, intelligent. She is also so incredibly hard on herself and can’t let go of the past. She is quick-witted and can handle herself. The chemistry between these two was amazing, even before they meet face to face. You can feel the intensity of their feelings toward each other, and they are both afraid to admit it. “He wanted to be deeper, to be inside her heart, her soul. He wanted to be a part of her life that she could never live without. He wanted to be her addiction, like she was his.” I believe that many readers will be able to relate to Blake and Gabi’s story. They both have a dark side to their past that threatens to consume their very beings. Drugs, alcohol, deadbeat parents, these things are not easy to read about, and I bet that these subjects are even harder to write about, so I applaud Eden for putting her heart and soul in to this book and these characters. Thank you for sharing this beautiful, touching love story with us, and thank you for giving Blake his happy ending. No one deserves it more. *ARC provided by the author*

If you’ve been following my reading habits, you’ll know I’m a sucker for a rock star romance. I picked up Blind Attraction and was immediately hooked on the fictional band, Reckless Beat. Eden lavishes attention on every character, you can’t help but love every one of them. When I got an invitation to review Passionate Addiction, I jumped at the chance. Blake Kennedy is the bassist for Reckless Beat. He is flirty, witty, and so funny. I fell for him so hard in Blind Attraction because of the chemistry between his character and his good friend Mitchell. The prologue in for this book solidified my love for him. You see his vulnerable side and not the cocksure, rich rock star. He opens himself to a person he doesn’t know in search of help for a personal problem, thus beginning a beautiful four year friendship. The kicker is that he has no idea what she looks like. But the bond they share goes beyond physical appearances. Gabi Smith is just a regular woman working part-time for an online support group. The last thing she expects is to connect with one of her online help seekers. Once she learns who he is, she keeps his secrets and becomes his best friend. I love that Eden gives these two a solid history and foundation together. I feel like they have a good, solid connection. Eden writing in third person, which is my favorite POV. I like knowing what is going on in all the character’s heads. The plot flows smoothly, giving us a great amount of angst, romance, and banter between the characters. Eden gives you the realistic side of the rock star life–paparazzi, greedy ex-girlfriends, and groupies. It’s probably one of the reasons I love this genre so much. And Eden does a wonderful job working these elements into the plot. Passionate Addiction is classified as an erotic read and that is what you get. The sex scenes between Blake and Gabi are hot as hell! Since they have a long distance relationship based on conversation only, I wondered what their meeting would be like. Let’s just say they don’t waste any time gettin’ it on. Blake lavishes attention on Gabi and we get all the delicious details. The sexual chemistry between them solidifies their relationship even more to the reader. My favorite aspect of Eden’s writing is her attention to the secondary characters. She treats them as though they are main characters of the book. You really get to know every personality of each wonderful character. You look forward to their scenes, along with Black and Gabi’s story. It’s because of Eden’s attention to her characters that I want to read all of their future books. Summing this all up, I like Passionate Addiction. Eden’s writing is terrific, characters are complex, and the plot keeps you engaged. I also really like the cover of this book. It’s eye catching and represents the book pretty well. I really look forward to future Reckless Beat books. I give Passionate Addiction by Eden Summers 4.5 out of 5 stars! This fantastic book is number two in the Reckless Beat series and it features Blake and Gabi. The guys of Reckless Beat are so free with their sexuality when their single but when they fall for “the one” it’s fun to see them scramble to contain the former rockstar lifestyle. The truth in the relationship between Blake and Gabby was beautiful to watch, which made it hard to believe he thought what he did wasn’t going to hurt her and change EVERYTHING! This is a great story! The characters are starting to grow and mature. The story line pulled me in right away and didn’t let go until the end. I am super excited about book 3!

This book was too good to put down but it was also hard to read at times. It was hard to forgive Blake at one point. Well written part.

I was happy to read about the gang of Reckles Beat again, this was Blake's story, and I did like him from last story. Here is his connection with Gwen, and there love for each other, and then of course, he screws it up, but he was able to correct it. I love reading about the others, Mitch and Alana, and how their relationship is moving forward. Mason, you know he is next. Then their is poor Ryan, and his problems with his wife. Well to be continued

Love these books. You will fall in love with the characters. Only complaint. ...the sex scenes got a little repetitive and therefore I was willing to skip them. Same thing over again....besides that the plot was actually really good

Gabi and Blake have never met. But for her birthday he is flying out to surprise her and finally met her. She is his light to the darkness that used to take over his life. They have gotten to know each other over years of talking in chat rooms and on the phone. Blake has secrets that he is keeping from Gabi as he believes he needs to fix the mess he got himself into. She helped fix him years ago so he needs to fix everything himself this time. But keeping secrets is affecting their relationship. As their love grows the tension from keeping the secrets also grows. Gabi knows Blake is keeping things from her but does not know what. Can she get him to confide in her? When the secrets are exposed will that be the end of Blake and Gabi’s relationship? Will it destroy their friendship also? Or will they learn from their mistakes and form a even better, sweeter bond? I highly recommend this story. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

For better understanding of the characters in this book, you should read Book 1: Blind Attraction.  This is Blake's story. Blake had met Gabi in a addicts anonymous chat room. Four years later, he decides that he wants to go surprise the girl that he has started to fall for, for her birthday.  Will they have as strong a connection offline as they do online?  I enjoyed reading this book. I loved Blake's character from Book 1.
