Prince of Wales Boarding School, nestled in a serene countryside, fondly nicknamed "Patch" was responsible for turning young boys into esteemed gentlemen who would one day occupy the hallways of world government power and authority. Led by a group of students leaders known as "Prefects" the students were subjected to untold physical and verbal abuse, intimidation, fear and bullying. About the Author

PATCH – is Mucheru Njaga’s debut novel loosely based on his own experiences at “Prince of Wales Boarding School.” He was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya and studied creative writing at Hunter College. Mucheru was always concerned about the growing cases of teenage bullying and the tragedies that came along with it. It was a personal experience he could relate to as a bullying victim and a former bully. His passion to find out what really causes teenage bullying and how can it be purged from our school and societies became his life long passion. Mucheru hopes to bring awareness to the causes of bullying through his debut novel "Patch"

Prior to writing “Patch” Mucheru worked on screenplays for several independent productions. The Novel “Patch” was adapted from an original screenplay he penned. He is currently based in San Francisco, California.

I don't generally read young adult novels, but when I heard about Patch, the story intrigued me. Bullying is a hot topic in the news these days, making this book quite timely in my opinion. I couldn't put it down. The story and the writing propelled the story forward from start to finish.I highly recommend this book. There is quite a lot of violence and brutality in it, but I think the message is an extremely important one and the story is interesting and engaging from the first page to the last

Patch, Mucheru Njaga’s debut novel, was loosely based on his own experiences at the school. He was inspired to write the novel by a news article that he read in 2003 about a teenage boy who committed suicide in the US after months of bullying.s the subject of Patch is of just as much relevance to people living around the world as it is to those living in the US. Both kids and their parents could do well be reading this novel over the vacation and when the school semester begins.
