PreS-Curious Rosie, an endearing toddler mouse, is interested in all kinds of things-from what a snowflake tastes like to how a clock works. She exemplifies the inquisitiveness that toddlers instinctively have. Patient Rosie shows a calmer, more tolerant side of her personality. She waits for the seeds she has planted to grow into flowers and she is patient while the cookies cool before she eats one. She learns that patience is often rewarded. The simple texts are just right for the very young. The warm, soft watercolors and the small size of the books are inviting to preschoolers, especially because they are sure to see themselves in the stories. Nice follow-ups to Wild Rosie and Gentle Rosie (both Hyperion, 1999).-Hennie Vaandrager, Byron Township Library, Byron Center, MI Copyright 2000 Cahners Business Information.
