About the Author

Karen Kinney Norton, retired school administrator, fell in love with PattySue when she met her and decided PattySue would make an excellent character for a children's book. Karen worked in the education field for 31 years and after retiring has become involved in numerous organizations. She has written two other books and lives in Wichita, KS, with her husband, Don, and their two dogs, Babs and Sepia.

Kathy Simms-Melzer, PattySue's owner, is an English teacher by trade. When her children were young, she became active in a local children's participatory theater group. She partnered with Karen to bring PattySue to life in print. She lives in Wichita, KS, with her husband, Mark, and of course, PattySue.

Donavan Lawrence is a graphic designer and has illustrated several books prior to embarking upon PattySue Finds a Home. He lives in Wichita, KS, with his wife, Amanda, and their dog, Kosmo.
