Overview

Love is a strong word signifying different things to different people. It is the relationship between man and woman, parent and child, sibling or friend. To many, it is the soulful bond between dog and its human. When Chelsea and Anthony adopted a male and a female retriever-Sugar and Spice-the shelter attendant assured them that the female had been spayed, but the male needed to get neutered. When Sugar went for a checkup, they discovered otherwise; Sugar was pregnant. So, when Sugar gave birth, finding the perfect owner for each puppy was arduous, but finding an owner for the last pup was downright heart wrenching. This pup had just recovered from health issues and had been nursed back to health by Chelsea for six months-just enough time for Chelsea and her to form a powerful bond. Alas, it was time to find the pup her forever home, but Chelsea rejected many of the pursuers. None were good enough. On that warm summer afternoon, the seemingly perfect couple fit the bill. With tears in her eyes, Chelsea handed them the pup she secretly named Foxy, the one she loved as if it were her own daughter. Two years later, she received a phone call from the veterinarian. A loose dog was found and the microchip led them to Chelsea. Only then did she discover that Foxy hadn't been given a good home after all. They had unknowingly handed her to the owners of a puppy mill. As if a knife had been driven through her heart, Chelsea had a choice to make. One that would make things right, as they should've been from the beginning. One that would change their lives forever.A moving love story that demonstrates the unbreakable bond and sustainable love between dogs and humans. A fictional novella

About the Author

I live in Las Vegas, NV with my husband, two golden retrievers and one Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever. I started writing over fifteen years ago, mostly technical manuals with a little added pizzazz. I've also been writing my own novels since I was a teenager, however back then, they were either hand-written in penmanship that was barely legible or type-written. Penmanship and typewriters. Do those words still exist? I wish I had saved some of those stories as I'm sure they would have been best-sellers. Okay, definitely not, but they would've been interesting to read all of these years later.
I had written my first book, "Finally Home" in the early part of 2010. Throughout my years of living with Buddy, our golden retriever, I always wanted to get his stories down on paper. They were just too comical to keep to myself. If you're reading this, then you might as well know, I am a die-hard dog lover and they are my inspiration for writing. I volunteer with a few animal rescue groups throughout Las Vegas when time permits. Though not all of my books are for dog-lovers, most have dogs in them. I enjoy writing about their antics and incorporate them in a few of my thrillers. In addition, I donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each book to various animal rescue groups.
You might also want to know that I am an indie author. Yep, I self-publish all of my books, create my own covers and format my own books.
Lastly, I have a very dark mind and an equally off-beat and witty sense of humor. Sometimes you'll find it revealed in my books. Hope you enjoy them and many thanks for stopping by.
