This is a book of anecdotes about people who have surprise encounters with wild birds and animals--some humorous, others downright astonishing. Each story is hilariously illustrated by an outstanding cartoon artist. The author, a game warden who spent more than 50 years in the outdoors, kept a running diary--or notebook as the subtitle reveals--about the stories he heard while on the job. There are a lot of books out there in the humor genre, but this one is different than most because you can actually learn about wildlife while getting a good laugh. The other fascinating thing about the book is that the stories are true. Read it and you'll see what I mean.

Pennsylvania Wildlife Tails is a lighthearted book that highlights the wonders and unpredictability of working with wildlife. William Wasserman has a great knack for portraying wildlife antics and the illustrations are sure to bring a smile to your face. I couldn't help but laugh out loud as I paged my way through the stories. It's the perfect gift for any outdoor-loving person.

What an excellent book! I found this book to be both entertaining and very well written. The wildlife anticdotes are hillarious and the illustrations are really clever. A must for the outdorsey type and the animal lover alike. Two thumbs up!!
