About the Author

Nisi Shawl is a Locus, World Fantasy, and Nebula Award finalist and a Tiptree Award winner. Her previous editing credits include Bloodchildren: Stories by the Octavia E. Butler Scholars, and WisCon Chronicles 5: Writing and Racial Identity. She co-edited the nonfiction anthology Strange Matings: Science Fiction, Feminism, African American Voices, and Octavia E. Butler; the mixed fiction and nonfiction anthology Stories for Chip: A Tribute to Samuel R. Delany; and the fiction section of Obsidian Magazine's special speculative fiction issue. She was also responsible for the reprints section of Lightspeed Magazine's special "POC Destroy SF" issue. She is easily Googled.

Nalo Hopkinson: yardie by birth, Canuck by citizenship, thing-maker by occupation. She has published numerous novels and short stories. Her novel Sister Mine (2013) received the Norton Award for young adult science fiction and fantasy. She's currently completing Blackheart Man, an historical fantasy set in an alternate Caribbean.

Minsoo Kang is the author of Of Tales and Enigmas: Stories and the history book Sublime Dreams of Living Machines: The Automaton in the European Imagination, and translator of the classic Korean novel The Story of Hong Gildong. His fiction has appeared in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Shanghai Steam, and The Year's Best Horror and Fantasy (2007) among others. He is currently an associate professor of history at the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
